From what I understand, it doubled as a job fair.
This is another great moment in UT history -- right up there along with UT-grad Janet Cooke winning the Pulitzer Prize, only have it stripped away from her because it turns out she made the whole story up.
(I believe she resigned the very day the Washington Post learne she got her bachelor's from Toledo, not Vassar. I am not making that up, either)

My sister and her husband both work at the Blade. Sis actually worked with Janet Cooke for a brief period of time. She said she was smart, but apparently not smart enough.
