It's down to us and Akron for high ** (Rivals) QB Sean Hakes from Texas (apparently, he has family here in Ohio). Looks like QB Nate Davis has narrowed his choices to Cincy, Ball State and Toledo. Word is he got a 16 on his ACT, which means he'll probably land in an honors program if he picks Toledo.
For those of you with long memories, Nate is the younger brother of Jose Davis. He's the Kent State QB who torched us back in 1997....or so.

That kid can flat out play.
I think Toledo has backed off because of grades and he is expected to select Ball State. The question is whether or not he will be eligible.

He's slated to visit UT this month...has that been cancelled?
In BG recruiting news, TX QB Sean Hakes visited Akron this past weekend and came away impressed. Per Rivals he had thought he would just commit to BGSU, but his Akron experience has given him something to think about.
Let's show him the "Bob" tent when he visits on the 9th....

Can't. They ran out of funds to finish the tent. Since it wasn't properly tied down, and because of the lack of trees to buffer the wind, the "Bob" tent blew away this weekend. Sid was qouted as saying that "hopefully a big donor will step up before 2007, and then they'll run over to Meijers to get a new tent". On the 9th will only by able to show him the "Bob" construction trailer and prop bulldozer.Flipper wrote:

Another important recruit will visit this weekend. They desperately need some size and strength on the DL.

It'll be interesting to see where Chris Harrison ends up. I've noticed him on the scout.com site a number of times, but never got my hopes up because of his article. The article on him is from July, so it's a little outdated, but in it his comments are:
“My favorites are Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Iowa, North Carolina, Boston College and Syracuse.”
The kid goes on to say that he's got offers from everyone in the MAC, but OSU is his favorite right now. I have no clue if they're still recruiting him (were they ever?). I have no idea what sort of senior year the kid had, and what the bigger schools think of him now, but from the article this summer it sounded as though if he got a single BCS offer he'd take that over any MAC offer. Perhaps I'm wrong, or perhaps he'll never get that offer, I don't know, but I haven't gotten too enthused about this kid for that reason...
