Yet another Omar leaving thread...

I was reading an insider article about players that are staying or going. The article seemed to have a lot of decent sources with some of the major players, but not so much with Omar. This is from scout.com, but I thought I'd share it here with others. Nothing revolutionary, but here's the blurb about Omar:
Bowling Green quarterback Omar Jacobs will explore his options. While we had Jacobs graded highly coming into the season an injury set the strong-armed passer back in '05. NFL scouts feel entering the draft is a mistake for Jacobs.

Too many question marks right now because of his injury. It would be a different story if he was able to play in the Senior Bowl, or another all-star game, and show himself off.
He will most likely be back next year.

The Sporting News pretty much had the same blurb (I think they use scout.com for some of their stuff).
It kind of sums up the way most of us feel...

Unless I'm mistaken, he couldn't play in any of the SENIOR all-star games i.e. Sr. Bowl etc. because he's not a senior..... Rothlisberger was in the same situation, I believe.

Should he stay, I think we all can agree that our sch. is a great chance for him to showcase his abilities. However, as always with a sch like that is always that chance he could get hurt and that does not help him any. i think he should return, energize this team, and make a run at the MACC again.

What I'm most interested is the part where it says "NFL Scouts" feel that it would be a mistake. I can see both sides of the argument, but that is with me projecting him to still be a mid-late first day pick. If the scouts are grading him into the 5th-6th round he'd be a fool to leave early, regardless of the situation here.
I'd really like to know what exactly he's hearing from these people. Hopefully he'll listen to the scouts & NFL committee that will give him a decent answer as opposed to the agents who will tell him what he wants to hear.

Exactly! Notice I said it would be a different story if he was ABLE to play in those games. But he is not a senior so he can't play in those games, and because of that he doesn't have a good way to prove to the scouts that he is past the injury.

If I were Omar with the type of injury he had I think it would be smart to return for his senior year. "See, I know this stuff I use to be in pre-med or maybe that was pre-law ah what's the difference." -Otter , Animal House 1978'

When I worked for the city we had a real bad woodchuck problem at the Cemetery (yes the one by the campus). By bad I mean woodchucks were known to bring up the bones from some of the older wooden (now rotten, obviously) caskets.
Our method of getting rid of these was to find the multiple holes from the tunnel, and flood it. When they came out for air we'd nail 'em with a stick. Think a real life version of whack-a-mole. It worked surprisingly well!
