Giving props to the U of Akron...they have an ad in today's paper for the MCB headlined "Detroit Roo City". Pretty catchy, IMO. Although tix are $35 for the general public and $25 for UA season ticket holders. Does each school set their own prices? I remember paying $45 a ticket for the MCB in '03.

Thoughts?

that's a great question. if wonder i UA is just choosing to subsidize ticket prices in order to get more folks to the game. if they pay that $20 and every single one of their season ticket holders go to the MCB, that's about an $80 investment for the athletic department.

in any case, you have to admire what akron does to get people interested in their football team, from the frye for heisman campaign, to this ticket thing, etc.

There was a big markup in the ticket prices if you bought through BG. As a recent college grad, I couldn't afford that markup. I got my tickets through the MCB itself and they were MUCH cheaper than going through the university. I know that they say you're supposed to go through the university so they can get credit for the attendance, but I'm sorry, not when I can save $15-20/ticket by going through the MCB ticket office.

My brother works for GM and was able to get tickets thru them for $20 which includes a $5 concession voucher. Our tickets are on the 30 yard line, lower level. He got a similar deal in '03 when BG played but the seats were in the corner of the endzone.

If anyone is interested in going to the MCB, all the motor companies have a deal of a $45 ticket and $5 food voucher for $25 - half price and no ticketmaster or mailing cost if use regular mail. Use link below in type in MCBGM or MCBFOR. Pass this on to anyone who is interested. Tickets are side endzone. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/08003 ... norcatid=8 Have fun.

UT has always sold MCB tickets for $45 too. Maybe Akron is taking a loss on the money in an attempt to get more of their fans there?

That's what I was thinking, rf. Seemed kinda odd they were offering those prices.

Hammb, I can understand why you didn't buy them thru BG. They were kinda pricey.
