Run defense left hung out to dry
Northwestern torched us with the running game in the Motor City Bowl, Oklahoma pounded us with the running game in the season-opener, but NIU just ripped out our throats with the running game tonight. I swear it looked like NIU's offense was on a power-play like in hockey, only instead of us being down a man, we looked more like being down two. Even in the end, when we knew they were going to pass, a run here, a run there, we couldn't stop them. I think this is our biggest area of concern right now after seeing this tonight. OU may have roughed us up, but NIU just tore us apart us. Who needs Michael Turner........?
