The defense can't be this bad
The defense can't be this bad
OK, this is my shot at trying to find the silver lining. For the most part, just like the OU game, our defense didn't give up the big play. The opponent is grinding it out on us. How many double digit play drives have we seen already? How many just tonight? It bothers me to see 17 play, 92 yard drives. Or 13 plays, 70 yards, and 12 plays 73 yards. (Or whatever they are.) But my point is that we are forcing some third down situations, but no one is making a play on defense to force the stop. Many times tonight we had third downs with a chance to stop them and force a punt and couldn't do it. We really need to work on our third down defense.

Yes it bad. We give up at least four yards every play. That is why we end up with third and twos and one. Then on third down we don't come close to making a stop. The only good play/plays we made all night on D was when we made them turn it over on downs before halftime. After that we couldn't stop a thing

That's definately stretching it. They didn't need to pass deep often because you couldn't stop the run, so of course you gave up less big plays. But when you give up 4 and 5 yards a rush it's just as bad. And I saw them break away for big gains more times than I'd be happy with. Come back to reality son.

Wow did we look like crap after the first drive tonight. Is this the same thing that happened to Mizzo a couple week ago vs Troy? I see a lot of potential in Omar and this offense but let's get it together....The D had MAJOR issuess tonight...
