I can't believe we virtually shut that kid down at the Doyt in 2003. He looks like he's going to be very good in the NFL.

yes he does. averaging upwards of 5.7 yards a carry in his short career so far!

Jason Tayloer had 3 sacks & Charlie Frye leads the Browns to a late FG for the victory.

Pretty good day for some MAC alumni.

Well it was the other way around in 2002. and in 2003 it was more like we forced them out of there gameplan more than anything. He was a great back.

I specifically liked how good he looked while at the same time Mike Doss looking like a fool. Seriously, my grandma knows how to take a better angle than that...

Yes. very nice job by Taylor and Frye. I hope they consider starting him for the rest of the season seeing how they are already out of the playoffs. He certainly could use the game experience, and i am really impressed at how much Carson Palmer has improved just from playing quite a few games.

There is no way in Hades that Frye doesn't start the rest of the season. Crennel wouldn't make it out of Cleveland alive if he were to bench him at this point.

Screw Ben & his efficient performance There has never been a football player I have hated as much as that man, he's too damn good and he always seems to be playing for a hated rival. The Browns will be up for this game, and they would love to knock the Steelers from the playoffs. Unfortunately I don't think they've got the talent to do it. They're playing their butts off, but they are still one of the 2-3 least talented teams in the league.

Is it wrong to root against my favorite team? I mean by winning yesterday, the Browns fell like 7 or 8 draft slots, from a possible top 5 to 12 or 13. If/when they beat Baltimore the final week and an upset of the Steelers, they could finish 7-9. With the boatload of bad teams in the NFL this year, a 7-9 record gets you even farther down in the draft.

If GB beats Bal tonight, there will be 11 teams at 4-10 are worse. and two teams at 5-9. That is horrific. Philly has six wins and only Miami has seven. So the Browns winning their next two only hurts their draft position if Miami loses their next two and they tie at 7-9. and several of the teams at 4-10 (Ten, Oak, GB) the Browns beat, so they would draft behind them if they finish with the same record. So my point is, by winning yesterday, the Browns just about locked themselves into a 11-15 draft slot. So they might as well win the last two now since it doesn't matter much.

I rooted for Pittsburgh to lose against Baltimore in the last week 2 years ago (which they did by a last-second field goal). As a result, they got the 11th pick instead of 15-20 and picked Roethlisberger. I'll take a meaningless loss to the artists formerly known as the Browns if it means getting a franchise player in return any day of the week.

On a related note, the Texans may have lost their shot at the Reggie Bush sweepstakes by beating Arizona yesterday. I bet management was pissed about that one

i overheard some rumblings last week (pardon me as i don't remember from which media outlet) that the nfl is considering a draft lottery to encourage bad teams not to totally tank in the last 3-5 weeks of the season.
does anyone really think that'll happen, though?

Last year I didn't want the Browns to win at the end. I wanted the draft slotting to get better players.

This year is different. This is the start of a new regime and staff. Any wins at the end do wonders for the confidence of guys like Frye, and it builds trust in the staff. If the Browns can finish with a win or two more you won't hear me complain. Besides you can get plenty of good players at any point in the draft if you do your homework and add talented players who fit your scheme. Look at the 6 drafts before this one. The best first rounder the Browns had was probably Faine, who was the latest of the picks. Factor in the huge difference in salaries and it's nice to not commit $30 million to an unproven rook.

BTW, Warthog head to head is NOT one of the tiebreakers involved in draft position. I think it goes right to strength of schedule (with the weaker schedule getting the higher pick). A coin flip comes in at the end. I definitely know that head to head isn't one of the tiebreakers for draft slotting, though.
