With the BG tragedy aside with AR, because that was obviously the biggest kind of distraction a team could have, what exactly did we spend two weeks preparing for concerning NIU? Didn't NIU basically come out and do what we knew they would try and do? Aside from them not having their starting QB and RB out there for most or all of the game, we've got to be even more stunned that they did what they did to us.......with backups out there!

It looked like we prepared for about 13 minutes. I'm ashamed right now. We are a lot better than this.

No amount of preparation will get us size and strength on that DL. They are still terribly undersized, and got dominated yet again by a power OL.

The only way we can control these running teams is by scoring on them quickly to take them out of their gameplan. That is a bad situation to be in. Not to mention that we tried to run our own version of a ball control offense all night :coo-coo: Our coaching staff willingly played right into NIU's hands and game style. If you said it was going to be one of those games where each team only gets 6-7 possessions I would've guaranteed an NIU win. We are NOT a ball control team. It kills me, but its the truth.

Gotta love a 4:00 scoring drive down by 3 TD's w/ 6:00 on the clock. That whoosh you heard was our staff throwing in the towel. In that situation you hurry up. No reason a scoring drive in college football with the stopped clock should take more than 1:30 if you're truly hurrying. There was no sense of urgency there. Now where have I seen that before?
