Did I really see what I think I saw last night? I am in shock at the ease NIU had running the ball. hammb is correct about that D line. I never wanted to admit it but they just aren't big enough. This game reminded me of the Miami game in Oxford last year. I just didn't expect this. I know NIU is a solid team but it looked like we didn't want to be there after the first td drive. I saw a lack of effort and heart from a lot of players last night and that will NEVER be accepted. Did the passing of AR have a huge effect on our psyche? These are kids afterall so maybe I should lighten up and place most of the blame where it belongs...on the coaching staff.

OTOH, I give all the credit in the world to Novak and NIU...their O line just manhandled us all night. Poor tackling, untimely penalties, missed assignments...I just don't get it. I pray this was just one bad game but I have serious concerns at this time.

We got our asses handed to us last night....period. I know that one TD run was a fumble but it wouldn't have made a difference. NIU wanted this game much more than we did.

Thanks to Class of 61 for coming over to watch the game and bringing that music cd!

Other than that, I'm done. Maybe I'll be back Monday. I don't wanna do anything today. This sucks.

Freak -- I'm with you Brotha! I am deeply disappointed and in shock with the uninspired performance by us last night. I'm just about speechless on this one. I posted this on a different thread, but BGSU Football has gotten to the point where I expect victories, and I mean victories against good teams on the road. I don't care if it's NIU, down at Miami, or down at Huntington ... I expect victories. This definitely put a damper on the weekend. We could still run the table and finish 9-2, but that might have us setting at home for bowl season. I am disappointed that we didn't play with a sense of urgency last night. Plus, we had two friggin' weeks to prepare for this game! It's ironic that me and some others thought that the QB position was going to be a question mark, whereas the defense was going to be a strength. I'm starting to wonder if it's the other way around. OTOH, Michelle and I went up to BG today and I had on an Orange Bowling Green Falcon Football t-shirt. I was getting some funny looks, and I couldn't help but think to myself, "Hey, people, if you're a true fan, you stick by your team ... even after last night ... this is when they need your support the most." We went to Collegiate Connection to have some BGSU stuff stitched on my Brown parka that Michelle got me last Christmas. It will be a mirror image of her Orange one. As for next weekend, Michelle and I won't be making it out to Philadelphia, but I'll tell you what, we're heading to Central Michigan in a couple weeks and that day can't get here fast enough! I'm just bummed right now, because it's so tough to win the division and get to the MAC Title Game, and I don't see NIU losing two or three MAC games. It just might be their turn to represent the West this season in the MAC Title Game. We'll find out what this team is made of next week at Temple. Hopefully we can get well out there, then get back on track in the league at Central Michigan on the 9th. I'm not jumping ship on our team, but doggone it, we put ourselves in a position where we now have to depend on someone else to do what we should have done ourselves last night!
