Not sure if this was mentioned here already or not? But he's an article on it:

another rb turned db for us. it looks like we're working hard to shore up the defensive backfield.

Great get! This is becoming a very strong class. Scout didn't list BG as one of Jahmal's possibilities. He is listed as a THREE star prospect and the 81st best RB in the country...for now....Bwa ha ha.

Another good pickup for the Falcons. It would have been great to get the kicker to go along with him, though. The statement about him possibly playing as a freshman at safety makes me wonder whether Brandon knows or is assuming that Perry will not be back.

Notice that later in the article the kicker/punter picked Toledo. Great. That had better be awfully high on Brandon's list this year.

I saw that he picked toledo because the campus reminded him of his high school.

Sadly, Brandon appears content on going the JUCO route for a kicker again. Did he not learn his lesson with JT?
BTW - An article I read said he had offers from that school up north and from EMU. WVU was also interested a little.
Anyone know this guys speed time?

I have been following recruiting closely this year and Jahmal Brown was on UT's radar all season long. I was only aware of an offer from UT, which scared me. I don't know when BG came in but this could be a good pickup for you guys.
I've been posting on the UT board this past month that I hoped UT didn't get him but I was worried because they were the only offer listed. The reason that I said that is because his academics are in question and I was told that he may have confidence issues. If these things turn out to be irrelevant by the time he reaches BG, I'm confident that you guys got a good athlete. The OSU fans were really big on him until they heard of the academic problems. I think he may have been high on the Mr. Football Ohio list but I'm not totally sure of that one. I've heard he's a good defensive player but an even better running back. Either way, if he makes it through your program for four or five years, I have no doubt that he'll be a playmaker over much of that time.

I don't have a problem getting a JUCO kicker, because there are a lot of JUCO kickers out there who "can" kick. The problem I have is getting a JUCO who "can't" kick. I don't care how or where we get a kid....if we recruit him outta high school, if he walks on, or if he's a JUCO transfer....just as long as he can kick at the D-I level and make extra points, most of his field goals, kick touchbacks, etc.

GREAT GET!!!
I don't know why we'll move him to safety when he's supposed to be a stud RB, but we need plenty of help back there, so hopefully he pans out. Scout.com has some film on him, I'll have to watch it. Anytime you can add a *** athlete it's a bonus regardless of what position he plays. It's also a good thing when Scout.com titles his commitment article, "Stud RB to Bowling Green." Obviously they're very high on him.
Don't see a time listed for him, but he did compete in the State Track Prelims in the 100 & some relays.

Rivals isn't nearly as high on Brown, but then again they think UCF is still in the MAC.
Regardless, I am happy that Brandon is getting 3-star in-state talent. You might recall that this was a sore subject with me.

Its hard to tell, but it appears that we are recruiting well this year.

After looking around on the Rivals site, and comparing the ratings of previous classes I'd say we're approaching one of our better classes (entirely based on Rivals rankings). I think at most in one class at least from what I saw was four 3 Star players. I think this year we have 2? Anybody shed any light on this? I know the rankings don't mean a lot but I thought it was interesting just the same.

I believe he can run the forty in 4.5 from what i had heard when they showed his HS school game on Fsn Ohio against Pa Gateway. He was on the Ginn tour bus this summer when it made a stop here to BG and the other schools.
