It's not that we lost, it's how and to who

It's not that we lost, it's how and to who that make this loss so tough. NIU just came out, bunched us in the mouth, and while we were busy picking up our teeth, they ran the ball down our throats. We were dominated, period.
The fact that we lost to a MAC West contender was a serious blow. If this loss was to EMU or CMU, I'd still be upset because it was a loss, but those would be teams that we would expect to see get beat again by other MAC schools. If NIU plays like they did against us the rest of the way, they might waltz into the MACC. We essentially lost to NIU twice because even if the Huskies lose in the MAC, they'll still have us head-to-head. I'll be pulling for everyone who plays them, yes - even Toledo, because if NIU goes without two losses, we can win out and still not catch them. What hurts is, we no longer control our own destiny, and that's never a good thing.
