Mad, but still proud to be a Falcon!

Am I mad and disappointed about what happened against NIU? Heck ya! But only because of how important the game was for us and because I am a huge fan. But I am still proud to be a Falcon. I've been a die-hard BG fan since I stepped foot on campus in 1993. So whether we go 2-9 or 11-3, I'm there through thick and thin. Last year was awesome and I enjoyed that year more than any other, but last night was painful because we now really have our work cut out for us.
A lot of us are venting over this loss to NIU, and you know what, I like it. It means we actually care about what happened and it has struck a nerve. I'd be disappointed if it didn't bother some of us. If we didn't care, we wouldn't be upset. I'm not calling out any particular player or coach, I really think we got whipped all the way around. But I believe in these guys to right the ship and get things rolling again. Will it be enough to duplicate last season? We'll have to see, but we can't do it alone now with this loss.
What I do not want to see is a loss like this break our backs, like the loss to CMU did in 1994. BG was never the same after that game for years to come. I hope we come out and prove we are a much better team than what the nation saw on national TV against NIU, and get back to BG football the rest of the season.
