Per Rivals... Lansing, MI's DJ Young has given BGSU a "soft" verbal (may still visit UCF). He's a *** DE who stands 6'-5" and weighs 265. Rivals has him as the 49th rated DE in the country and 13th rated player in Michigan.

Hope we can keep him!!

Insiders.com doesn't mention Bg or UCF. :?

4.9 in the 40 is a bit slow, though.

In all seriousness, this kid has great size and appears to be another really good recruit. Hopefully we get him! Great job by the staff thus far in recruiting season.

BG is mentioned in the article about him, but I think you need the subscription to read it. I think their website template only allows for 6 teams as showing interest, but in the article he lists off like 10. So they couldn't put them all on there.

Reading the articles it sounds like ANOTHER great get for this team...this is shaping up to be one of our best ever recruiting classes.

In the scout article they call him, "one of those prospects who dominates and we don't know why they don't get attention." Especially, they note, why there is no interest from MSU when he's right under their noses. They do list him as having offers from some BCS schools like UNC, Cincinnati, UK, and Indiana. They do list him as a DT, and say he played DT in HS, and I think he might end up at either position here. He's already got prototype size for us at DE, but we could look to put another 15-20 pounds on him and he'd be a good sized DT for us as well.

Awesome get if he signs. D-line is our biggest need (Kicker(s) not included). Our defense could be pretty good in a year or two with all this talent for Lovett to play with.

Brandon and Co. have done a seemingly outstanding job recruiting off of an iffy season this year. Hats off to the staff for selling these kids on coming to BG. Yay for the Sebo Center!

Thanks for the info!! So far, so good recruiting wise. This could very well be an OUTSTANDING class. :D

But I thought our program was in serious decline?

Sounds like he could turn into a potential monster in a few years - I love it!

Reading stuff like this new verbal makes me wish signing day was tomorrow. I can't wait to see how our class pans out and I hope we add this kid to the list.

Wow, this kids at first glance looks like a stud! Great size for DE right now or a after many months of buffets and weight gain could make a nice DT if he's indeed already 275lbs. Hope he gives us a solid verbal soon. :D

This is great news and another good pick up on defense! I agree with falconboy, lets hope we can go from a soft verbal to a solid one. Signing day can't come fast enough!
