New douchemonkey candidate - Skip Bayless

On ESPN2, Woody Paige talked about how impressed he was with Williams from Memphis after watching the MCB.

Skip Bayless then says with his eyes rolling "Who was he playing against, one of those Akron's, Temple's, Toledo's?"

To make matters worse, Jay Crawford (BGSU graduate) just sits there and says nothing to refute him.

It's not Crawford's job to interject, he's the moderator.

With that said, I second your notion to name a Douchemonkey #2.

That guy's always been a raging prick, but there can be only one douchemonkey.

How about, since this dill seems to be pretty haughty (and almost French), we call him: Peppy LeDouche.

Well, that's a common sentiment on many websites.

Skip is afterall a product of the SEC, so what do you expect when he talks about any conference other than the SEC. He's the same guy who is notorious for hating hockey, insisting that the Ohio State Buckeyes (or the "Luckeyes" as he likes to call them) stole the 2003 BCS championship from Miami, having a strange hatred/obsession with Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens, and refusing to say the name of Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane.

Hey Skip," how about one of those Bowling Green's you know one of those Bowling Green's that beat Memphis last year"!!!! I'm in my car most of the day so I listen to alot of sports radio and whenever Jim Rome has Bayless fill in for him I instantly turn the station, not just because of the numerous stupid things he says but mainly because of that irritating voice of his. I'm with you San Diego, Crawford should have jumped in and put that idiot in his place, that was a perfect opportunity.

I like Jay Crawford a lot, but he about made me puke a few weeks ago when the trio of Woody, Skip and Jay wore their "school's" gear for a show (sweatshirt and hat). Woody wore his Tennessee gear, Skip wore his Vandebilt gear....and Crawford sat there decked out in his Ohio State gear. Made me want to puke.

Holy Fredo! Doubly embarassing for me is that he also graduated from my high school. From now on, I won't claim him since he won't claim us.

His degree should be revoked for that.

Skip is just another know-nothing sports "personality".

He's been noted as saying he's an avid OSU fan.

And I'm not saying he shouldn't be a fan either. I guess what was disappointing was this was a chance for a BG alum to wear his schools' colors, on an ESPN program that he hosts, and he wore OSU. The shame of the matter is, he did what so many Ohio-MAC school students and alums do too, focus more on OSU than their own school. I'm not saying you can't be a fan of OSU if you attend a MAC school. Many students grow up on Buckeye football and it will always be a part of them. But you can be a fan of both, it's not like they're arch-rivals like Michigan or something. And this isn't just at BG, it's at Ohio, Miami, Akron, Kent State and Toledo too. But when it comes to wearing "your" school and you chose another, that was a slap in the face.

What's sad is, despite this thread starting with a complaint about Skip, he at least stuck with Vanderbilt which is certainly no national power in football (despite have a good season for the first time in a long time). He still wore his Vandy gear on the show. He could have thrown on another team he likes too, but he stuck with Vandy. Gotta give him props for that.

I know this is a topic we have talked about before and we could 100 times more and it won't change the fact that MAC schools will likely always be second fiddle to OSU to nearly everyone else. I just thought Crawford dropped the ball on his own school wearing that OSU crap....but I'm not his mother and I can't dress him in the morning.

^^^ Well said 33, that type of thing is a huge sticking point with me as well. When Jay spoke at the union last year I got a chance to talk to him one on one for a minute and it was really cool to see an accomplished alum come back, and despite his celebrity he was very modest. Listening to him speak of his days at BGSU and all the pride he had as a Falcon, along with all the kind things he said about the university, I really wouldn't have expected him to do that despite his allegiance to OSU. I can relate, my "team" is Syracuse while my school is BGSU, but BG always comes first. I can't imagine having an opportunity like that and not showcasing your alma mater, I think OSU gets enough run.

I'm surprised he showed up instead of giving his speech in Columbus.
