Is Omar the 1st BG player to leave early?

Post by Salsa »

Is Omar the 1st BG football or basketball player to leave early for the NFL or NBA?

I know there have been players from other sports to leave early, e.g., hockey and baseball, but I can't think of any from football or basketball.

Leaving early at least is a plus for BG having that kind of talent.

Football player? I think yes, Unless you include Mitchell Crosley.

I'm pretty sure we've had more Icers who have left early. No names jump to mind, but I'm thinking that's the case.

Pardon my spelling butchery of some names, but in the glory years of BG Hockey in the mid 80s we had a number of guys leave early. Gino Cavallini, Dan Kane, Dave Ellet and I think Gary Galley all left early. I don't think we have ever had a football player leave early for greener pastures though.

Does anybody know what ever happened to Crossley? He made a terrible decision.

One Who Knows believes he would have been an academic casualty anyway.
