Winovich at QB?
How about coach moveing him there. That was his position in HS and as a SR he did pass for 20 Td's and over 2,233 yards. For his career 4,4421 passing yards and 44 Td's tossed and also ran for 15 Td's.

That would be a GREAT idea, because we don't have enough quarterbacks on the roster!bg sports fan wrote:How about coach moveing him there. We actually don't have that many QBs on the depth chart right now. We do have a lot of converted HS QBs on the roster though. Assuming that Freddie Barnes is transitioned out to WR, I think this makes sense to move Winovich.
1) He doesn't have to tackle anybody
2) He had a fair amount of success in HS
3) The other "two" options, assuming the next few weekends go well, are TRUE freshmen.

We don't?? Maybe my brain is acting up, but I thought we had a whole farm of them this year, not counting the incoming class. I guess that's what I get for not reading more than every third post of the recruiting threads...OptionQB wrote:We actually don't have that many QBs on the depth chart right now. If we are in fact short in the QB department, I retract my sarcasm.

I thought there was a quote from the Sentinal-Tribune that Winovich was being moved from LB, but his destination wasn't stated. I would like to see the staff give him the offseason to learn the LB position better. He looked good at times last year, but awful at others. Give him some time and his athleticism may be a big asset for our LB corps.

If/when Turner takes over, coaching staff has said that Barnes is such an athlete that they want to get him on the field somewhere. But the somewhere was not made clear! But he would still stand as Backup QB at this time.orangeandbrown wrote:Coach said Barnes is going to compete with Turrner for the starting job, so I wouldn't expect to see him "transitioned" to WR. I also don't think you will see Winovich move.
The most likely scenario is that Anthony Turner develops into the kind of QB we expect him to be.
ROLL ALONG!
