"This is looking to be one of the best classes in the MAC at this point in time. Getting PJ Mahone and Brandon Jackson are huge for the Falcon program. Jahmal Brown and Derek Brighton could play right away as well. If BG continues to recruit at this high level, the Falcons will continue to be a top team in the east division for a long time."
That's good to hear. Hopefully we can round out this class with some more good prospects and finish with a top 3 class in the MAC. I think we'll be right there at the top of the MAC as far as recruiting goes.

But we're in decline, remember????
BG will be just fine on the field in the coming years.

Some info on the "others" that were mentioned.
Alcin is a WR, not a RB. Womack is a DB, not a RB. DJ Young, a three star prospect, is a soft verbal to BG! Derrick Smith is going to Iowa and Marcus Hyde to Mich St. Of the rest not much info out there except for Dorcely. He is a two star DB with intertest from Colorado, WMU, and EMU.

Obviously VanDelay knows absolutely nothing about the fall of the mighty Falcons due to the departure of one O4.
Whoa is me. Will the sun ever shine again in Bowling Green-land?

Who is DJ Young? Does anybody have any links on the kid? I'd love to read about another 3-star hopeful addition to the Falcons.

Scout has him at 2-star.

Do you have a link to the confirmation of the verbal WH? A big hoss like this kid on the d-line is the biggest improvement we could make on defense.

Alcin sounds like he could be a sleeper. Scout.com has him at 6'1 177, and the articles say he has "reportedly been clocked at 4.4" They don't have any concrete numbers on much, but do say he caught 34 passes for 500 yards on an apparently very run-oriented offense. He's a 1-star, but sounds like an intriguing athlete.
Womack also sounds like an interesting prospect. They don't really have any updated info on him since after his senior season, but scout does have some quotes from his coach. Apparently he's a great athlete and runs a consistent 4.55 (from the coach). He said he's also a great leaper who led their league in INTs as a Jr. The article from August also says that he needs to retake his exams if he wants to qualify as a Freshman, and that could be keeping larger programs from showing interest.
DJ Young sounds like a great get, if he does end up here. Scout says he's a real sleeper and they cannot figure out why he isn't getting interest from MSU, which is very near where he played HS ball. Says he's dominant at the DT position, which would be a nice addition for us
As Warthog said Derek Smith has committed to Iowa. He's also coming off a torn ACL so he only played 4 games as a senior. Looks like he was never really considering us...his comments are how he loves Iowa, and also Toledo...apparently his uncle went to UT. Doesn't look good for him academically as he got a 13 on the ACT...hell I thought they gave you 15 for getting there on time and spelling your name properly.

Lowest score I've ever seen on an ACT is 11. You used to start at a 400 on the SAT (now with the three sections, I'm wondering if you start at 600).

The old joke use to be that they give you 400 on the SAT just for showing up and spelling your name right. The funny thing is that my older sister, who is getting ready to go to Harvard to get her Ph.D., got a 1450 on her SAT. The funny part is, she actually did spell her name wrong. We had college admissions packets coming to the house in droves, all addressed to "Krirtina". She'll never live that one down.

it's not really a joke, because that's how the scoring system works. one is rewarded for correct answers and penalized for incorrect answers on the SAT, while not answering yield neither loss nor gain of points.
but still, i'd never let my sister live that down.
