I just read on Rivals.com that Anthony Glaud from Sicklerville NJ has commited to us. He is 6'2 207 runs a 4.78 and passed for 2,245 yards 7 int's and 24 td's. He picked us over interest from Iowa, Rutgers and Tcu. A couple of comments from him i liked were. I allways wanted to go to BG I was waiting for the offer it came so i took it. It's the perfect fit for me. I'm going to go there early in the summer and see what happens. He also kinda looks like what Omar did with the style of hair he has so hey who knows we might have the next one on the way

Gotta love that quote. How many times have we heard this? I haven't heard many recruits say that they always wanted to go to BG. You usually have guys dreaming about going to a "bigtime" conference. Maybe Falcon football isn't so bad afterall. Welcome to the family Anthony.
It says he's 6'2, 207 and runs a 4.7 ... No stars for Gould. But there has to be something if Iowa and TCU were interested.
After googling it said that he was the best QB in South Jersey
I think someone that works at Phillyburbs might be able to help us out with some info on this kid.

A little off this particular subject, however does anyone out there know why Rivals does not yet have PJ as having committed to BG yet? I'm hoping they don't know some dark little secret.

Don't worry. I can't even find him in their database at all.
What gives?

Sounds like a good get. Scout.com reported his SAT score as 850. I don't think that is a very good score...academics may be an issue, but let's hope not. This may mean that Bynes is leaning toward Louisville or another school. Anyone have any perspective?
How are we doing on the WR front?

Scout.com had a little blurb from him that the reason why most bigger schools are not calling is that he had a very poor academic year as a Sophomore. It indicated, however, that he has since rededicated himself, got his core GPA up to 2.50, and scored an 850 on his SAT. 850 is not good, but I think it should be good enough for him to qualify?

My only question on this kid, as well perhaps on others....when you see other schools listed, it doesn't necessarily mean they're interested in HIM...just that he's had some interest in them...Perhaps a standard recruiting letter that they send to a huge number of kids? But has he been OFFERED by those schools? That's usually what I look for, rather than "interest from".

That doesn't necessarly mean great things. I don't think New Jersey is know for the football that I know of. How many top recruits that go to BCS schools come from that state anyway? I would guess maybe a handfull.

You are way off. New Jersey is a good football state. Certainly top 15 and maybe top 10.

edit: On second thought, NJ is certainly top 10.

FYI, South Jersey, in particular, is known as a GREAT source of talented football players.
Examples ...
Maryland: About 8 players from New Jersey.
Penn State: About 8 players from New Jersey.
Virginia: About 11, including a kid named Wali Lundy. Perhaps you've heard of him and his 3,326 career rushing yards?
If you want to know more,
check out this link. You'll see that all of the top 30 recruits in New Jersey are headed to BCS programs.
Myron Rolle is rated as the #1 S.
Antwine Perez is rated as the #2 S.
Jason Adjepong is rated as the #7 DE.
Knowshon Moreno is rated as the #11 RB.
So, yeah, there's an awful lot of football talent in New Jersey, the Jets notwithstanding.
