sounds like you guys have a couple irons in the fire. i was disappointed to see Omar leave early; he's a class guy, and i was glad to get to see him in Boise last year.Bowling Green coach Gregg Brandon is one of the game's best offensive minds, but there are some in the coaching community who believe he simply stepped into a ready-made situation after Urban Meyer left for Utah. That's just ridiculous. We'll see more of Brandon's coaching ability next season when the Falcons have to replace QB Omar Jacobs, who skipped his senior season to enter the NFL draft. Meyer may have recruited Jacobs, but Jacobs was raw at best when he arrived at Bowling Green, and Brandon quickly molded him into the MAC's best quarterback. Sophomore QB Anthony Turner is Jacobs' likely replacement, but Brandon is excited about the development of redshirt freshman Freddie Barnes. . . .
we've had a bit of a tumultuous off-season here, too, with our coach leaving to colorado and going after our recruits. it does make it tough to estimate what kind of team we'll be bringing to BGSU next year, but we're still cautiously optimistic since we were able to promote our OC to HC.
on a different note, i see McConvey is coming back to Boise (great news for us!), so there's still a Boise/BG connection...
have a great summer, falcons!
