From everything that I've been hearing is that Miami, Toledo, BG and NIU have the top recruiting classes in the MAC. Surprising to see Ball State and Buffalo up there.

Buffalo has 3 commits per Rivals. 2 three-star guys, but only 3 in total! I don't follow the recruiting game alot, but it seems like we have a fantastic class this year that should be 1-3 in the MAC.

Those rankings mean next to nothing. They, along with ESPN's rankings, are based on either the average score they give recruits, or a total score for all recruits. They usually favor either tiny or huge classes. I don't think there is any way, based on what I've read about schools' recruits, that we are not top 3 in the MAC at this point with UT and either NIU or Miami.

The only first place I want these recruits to win is the MAC Championship, preferably more than once.

Rivals lists Mahone as a ZERO star prospect (he has 3 stars from Scout). Rivals also lists Sean Ellis as a zero star prospect. We have all seen him kick, so I'm not too worried about his lack of Rivals' stars.

Something interesting I have found out. If a player or his coach/high school did not submit game film to Rivals, they automatically list him as zero stars until they receive film.

Scout does a similar thing, but lists the player as a 1 star recruit instead of zero stars.

Rivals has two Rockets listed as zero stars for that reason above. Scout has at least one rocket listed as one star for that same reason too.

This in itself is enough to not believe the ranking system when you have players that have zero stars or one star and they were players that received multiple DI-A offers, including offers from BCS schools.

Anthony Glaud just went from zero to two stars....they must have gottensome film on him.

I think they're doing this because a couple of years ago some kid started feeding one of these services bogus reports about his size, speed and performance on the filed. He parlayed that into some heavy D1 interest and even took a vist or two. he got busted when one of the Florida schools called his HS coach to verify a few things.

In related news, Scout has just dropped both Mahone and Rieke another spot.

Rivals has completed their evaluation of Mahone and he is now listed as a 2 star (5.3 ranking) prospect.
