Recruiting news

Post by bg sports fan »

I have read a couple of things off of the scout and rivals web sites. First off the Rivals a WR from Florida Phillip Garner from Fort Lauderdale is down to BG and Kent we both have offered he visited kent this passed weekend and us the weekend before. He stands 5'11 172 and runs a 4.56 and also has a vertical leap of 37 inches.

The punter we have comeing from FL on scout is a 4 star recurit and they list him as the number one punter in the country. So this kid must have one heck of a leg and i would not doubt if maybe he even would do the kickoffs for us. So it sounds like this class will be a very good one after all and I can't wait to see the video's of all this kids :)

best punter in the country, WOW! And i thought we were going to have a hard time getting somebody to fill in the shoes of Mr. Fry. when he got the ball off, he could get some leg it to it.

Actually, the kicker we're bringing in had a pretty good touchback % if I remember right. That could be four years of a luxury we haven't seen in awhile...

We've all drooled over the videos of Big Bird kicking, and there was a site for the punter floating around here somewhere too (Alonso Rojas, I believe, right?) though I'm not sure what kind of videos he had on there. Speaking of, it might be time to make a return visit to Big Bird's site to see if he's got any more blog postings up, or at least to see that great pic of him posing in the BROWN uni!!! :D

Yes, still there. Notice how he's wearing a "BROWN" jersey. Big Bird's got class. I think Big Bird's dropping a big hint to coach that BROWN jerseys are bettter than ORANGE jerseys.

Wow!!! This is amazing...does anybody have any other info on Rojas. This could really give our special teams a boost. Now all we need are some hard nose tacklers to help out!

The punter that was mentioned by FLCoach as having verballed last week. This verbal is now confirmed in our scout.com database. They do have him as a **** recruit and the #1 punter in the nation.

Definitely a good get.

Wow. I wonder how many of those 75 yard long punts we can get out of him!
This is definitely good news. Now if we can just work on a decent formation for him to kick out of.

The thing that is mentioned on his site that is VERY important, is that he is a TWO-STEP punter. Much less likely to be blocked!! :D

Don't you worry Flip... let the word get out that he signed with us, and he'll be a 2-star former waterboy before you know it!
