If you were Coach Brandon...
what would you be focusing on this week to prepare to get back in the hunt?
#1 I would preach discipline to my DL. The biggest problem I had with the DL wasn't that they got pushed around, I knew that would hapen; I was more worried about how undisciplined they were, continually failing to maintain backside containment.
#2 TACKLING We are not a great tackling team, but we aren't normally as bad as Friday looked either.
#3 I'd have Omar & his WRs work on some deeper routes. Their timing seems to be lacking when they try to take a shot downfield.

Look ahead
#1 I would definitely be telling them that there is nothing that they can do about the NIU game and let's put that behind us.
#2 Learn from our mistakes. Really review the game tape and find out what they did wrong, and don't make those mistakes again. We have a smart football team that can learn from their mistakes.
#3 Really put it in their heads that they are not out of anything just yet, and that this is a marathon and not a sprint. Come out against Temple and do the things that got them where they were last year as a team, and not try to do too much individually.
They are fine, NIU can slip up at any time, and the Falcons just need to focus on themselves and what they have to do every week to win football games. This is a veteran football team that is not going to be happy unless they win the west again, and believe that if the coaches do their job, the players will do theirs.
