GOODBYE EVERYONE!!!

Hey Everyone:

Greetings from Georgia. Those in the basketball chat room today know I was pissed off during the game because of some posts that were going on between me and another so-called Falcon fan. I had a wedding to attend and just got back to the hotel and all afternoon I have been thinking and I just wanted to tell everyone that I will not be coming back to this board. I may check in from time to time, but certain people cannot respect the direction our programs are heading, or do not wish to support certain programs and I take that personally. I have been attending Falcon sports so over 25 years. I been a resident of BG all my life, a season ticket holder for all major sports, gone to the bowl games, missed 7 games in 6 years, went to the NCAA Hockey Championship, etc, and been a Falcon Club member for 10 years, donating over $40,000 but it makes me sick to my stomach on how certain ‘so-called’ fans turn on our programs and have to talk bad about them. Due to this, I decided that I am going to take a few months away from this site. Grant, you can go ahead and delete my account if you must. I really appreciated getting to know each and everyone of you and talking amongst you, even though I have not met anyone personally. I will always be a Falcon Club member and support our athletic teams, but coming to this site lately and hearing certain people put down our program has made me sick. I wish the best to each and everyone of you and maybe when the time is right I will come back to this site to express my opinions and read what Falcon Fans have to say, but for the moment I think it is best that I leave this site before I say some remarks that I may one day regret

Yours Truly,
BGSUFAN1972

Ok, now that I vented I am going to go back and enjoy the wedding reception

Am I just callous or is this just a bit of an over-reaction?

I just want to take a moment and tell you all that I am giving up pudding. I have supported pudding for so long and what has it done for me lately? Pudding is so rude and so careless. I have bought pudding, ate pudding, cared for pudding, and I have Bill Cosby talk bad about me in a chat room!! Hoe dare he!! Oh well, this is my end, fair treat!! Good bye pudding and good riddance!!! I am leaving forever but may come back and try you every once and awhile in the upcoming months!!!!

It is not an over reaction in my opinion. I'm as old as he is and I was there today when the comments were expressed. We older alums have lived through a lot with BG sports and I fully intend to live through more until the day they bury me in Orange and Brown PJ's.
It is hard to take the constant criticism of our teams, when they give the effort, represent our schools in a fine manner, and graduate and become successful citizens.

Am I disappointed in some of our outcomes? Oh yeah- but I feel for the student athletes and their parents who love them. If I feel crummy after a game- how do THEY feel?

They aren't perfect and neither are we. But I WILL support them, heart stopping as they may be...from the gymnastics team, to the swimmin women, to the football team to the band. Because they are Falcons. Pure and Simple.

Come back soon 72- we hardly knew ye.

Oh, this was specific to the chatroom and not the bball message board. Okay. I have no knowledge of what transpired so I have no further comment on this situation. I was attending another birthday party...of four year olds.

This is unfortunate but hopefully 72 will find his way back. Ironic that the chat room actually has an ignore button.

72 don't let them get to you. This board is mild and well behaved compared to most. Sometimes frustration can get the best of us. We want success and we want it now. I have heard some dumb things here before, but it's not worth throwing in the towel.

Continue to lead by example and show these young fans what it means to be a true Falcon.

I never have understood why people get worked up over internet arguments.

Especially someone of 72's age. That's just rediculous.

I think "Big Bird" Ellis and the rest of the Merritt Island crew are reading this and thinking "what kind of nutcase college is our Bird going to"

72....don't let the jerks here bother you. There aren't many of them and it's more fun to stay around to call them jerks

Yeah, I'm getting sick of this too. I'll not leave, though.

Future exclamations of idiocy and ignorance will be followed by insults by yo.

This mostly refers to hockey, but I suppose it pertaions to all sports:

LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT A SPORT BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE IT, IT'S COACHES, OR IT'S PLAYERS.

72,
Just take a little break from this place. That is what I have pretty much done for the last two months. I was a little irritated with posts here for a spell. Now I just look at who started the post as the basis of whether I even open it. It's not worth getting upset over something you cannot control. This might be a Falcon sports website but it still is the internet, and you are not going to like everyone you "meet" on the net.
