I think ESPN has positions they played in high school. The list shows where they will likely play here, I think

I do have a question though...is the reason we have so many one stars just because Scout doesn't have any info on those recruits? I also figured D.J. Young would be a 3 star

I trust this figure is for Whisky. What about, and more importantly, the spring game?

Scout has us #1 huh? Sounds good to me! Now let's finish in that same position come the end of next season in the MAC regular season standings!

It's depressing to see the MAC ranked 3rd from the bottom in overall conference rankings

Yes, that is how Scout does it. Rivals seems to give everyone a low 2-star as a default position. As soon as our list came out, I searched Rivals and couldn't find some of BGSU's players in its database. Then, about two hours later, they were all in the database as low 2-stars (4.9 and 5.0).

Scout.com is really disappointing because they just aren't with it.
They do have BG #72 and UT #73 as the top two classes in the MAC, but I found some errors and stupid rankings because they don't really know about the kids.
First, they only list 22 players for UT. We have 23 LOI's. The one they don't have is DB Greg Harris who was named All New England Class A prep school Player of the Year by the Boston Globe.
They have CB Desmond Marrow listed as a 1 star because I guess they don't know anything about him. The kid was Ohio Division IV Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the state. The other Co-Defensive Player of the Year is a linebacker that signed with Ohio State today. Marrow originally committed to Miami over the summer, and received a scholarship offer from Pittsburgh last week and was undecided up until last night when he sent a text message to the UT coaches saying he was going to sign with UT. At the very least he should be a high 2 star recruit, not 1 star.
In all, Scout has 6 UT recruits listed as 1 star players and each one of them are rated 2 stars by Rivals.com.......with 4 of them as high 2 star recruits. They also list two players as 2 stars that are listed as 3 stars on Rivals.com.
I am sure it is the same for BG with some of these recruits and Scout.com. I have always thought that Rivals.com does a better job of rating the players based on potential, but this year seems to be moreso than normal when comparing to Scout.com.

Rivals is just as bad...if they don't know a player, they'll just slap a couple of stars on him and rate him a 4.9 or 5.0. Scout.com has Rojas at ****. Rivals didn't have him in their database initially, so he's a ** guy.
Both sites have some serious shortcomings once you get outside of the bigger schools. I wouldn't put too much weight behind either one of them so far as rating the MAC.
Based on what I saw of our recruits a tonights recruting event, I think we filled some needs on defense and picked up some help at WR and we seem to be on the road to straightening out our kicking game.
I'm happy with that...

I'm not disrepecting Marrow, he might be a very good player, but in Scout's defense, D IV is small-time football. It is probably more difficult to get a good read on a kid coming from D IV since the overall talent level is weak. More often than not a mediocre D I team can absolutely destroy a very good D IV team.
