Misc. ramblings while waiting for Saturday...

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Official "on-ice" practices started yesterday. The team had TWO scheduled, morning and afternoon. Didn't have time to get over and check them out, though...

Has anyone been in the rink lately? They hung new signs near the stairwells that tell the section letters, etc. VERY COOL!! Big signs, lots of orange on them, with a BG hockey player in the background! I am impressed with the little things they are doing in and around the rink to spruce things up!!!! It shows that SOMEONE around there is making hockey a priority again!!!

6 DAYS.......AND COUNTING.......
DROP THE FREAKIN' PUCK ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Hey, We're tied for FIRST!!

Ok, so the teams are listed alphabetically  , but it's kind of neat to see our name near the top of the CCHA list. Get used to seeing it that way folks, cuz it's gonna be a reality in the future!!!!

Any hint about if or when a Women's night might be?

Haven't heard anything, but I will ask!! I imagine it would be later in the season, but who knows! They may want to do something early on, just to keep the interest high!!!

Former head coach Buddy Powers is now the director of the Ice Arena. He replaces Randy Sokoll who passed away in december. Needless to say, there is now someone in the dirvers seat that knows what needs to be done. If you are by the arena stop in and say hi. I am sure Buddy would appreciate it.
