..."we're gonna kick the s*** out of you"
This is the exact reason the song was banned from being played by the band on BGSU's campus, not because of the "You Suck!"
The reason many older fans complain about the "You Suck" is because the meaning has changed. Back in the day, as noted above, it was a sexual meaning. It's now changed to basically mean "You're bad."
I know some people complain about it, but it gets the crowd going at basketball games, hockey and football games better than any other song played at BGSU.
And yes, BGSU is much better than most other crowds. Other than one particular hockey chant, you don't hear vulgarities.
My personal opinion though -- it's hockey, what I consider a badass sport. "You Suck!" being brought up is comical to me...but that's just me. Ask the coaches and players, they love it. It really excites the crowd and gets the home-atmosphere into play. I fail to see what the big deal about "You Suck." We don't throw batteries at opposing fans like Wisconsin, we don't chant "ASSHOLE!" at every fan wearing their attire like OSU, and we don't throw pee bottles like Penn State. People don't realize how calm our fans really are here. People will always find something to complain about.
