This morning I was talking on the phone with another BG Hockey fan, and he asked me if we were going to Fairbanks. I said "sure, our limo is picking us up in fifteen minutes to take us to the airport where our private jet is waiting." It got me wondering if it would even be possible to make flight arrangements to get there today. I went on Expedia.com and checked it out (looking only at flights leaving today):
From Detroit...$2106 (via Seattle)
From Cleveland...$1884 (via Seattle)
From Columbus....$1920 (via Cincinnati and Seattle)
From Dayton...$1964 (via Chicago, and Seattle)
From Toledo...$1688 (via Chicago and Seattle)
Needless to say, we'll be listening from home.
PS, all these flights would have connected to the same flight from Seattle, and would have arrived after the game would be over.
Traveling to Fairbanks?
I believe the team was in town by yesterday.

You know... I'm actually relieved that I'm not the only person who checked airfares up to Fairbanks this week.
It didn't occur to me until Monday that I have Saturday off and could actually see a BG game. I even found the perfect flights on Northwest... would have set me in Fairbanks at 4:16 pm Saturday and left at 1:15 am Sunday.
But I didn't have $1467.98.
Too bad the idea didn't occur to me a few months ago.

You're assuming a lot.......Puckhead wrote:I have heard that next year we have away games in Boston, UAF, UNO
and NMU.
Can my heart take that much traveling without any wins?
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
