Team's #'s
It seems to me that the numbers are high for this year's team. Does anyone know if they will have to release anyone before the season starts?
There was a rumor. No idea of the validity of it.

nobody gets cut, like in juniors, to my knowledge in college. There are some restrictions on numbers who can travel, scholarship limits, see this link

Your knowledge is incorrect, there are cuts. If you are going to come on here please know what you are talking about. There are cuts or at least there have been since Paluch has come to BG. Just a little note on the cuts though, they have 29 and there aren't going to be anymore cuts, not sure how that is possible becuase as far as I was concerned a team could only keep 28 but I guess Paluch is going to break more NCAA rules and keep more than the allowed amount of players.

The key phrase in ziggityboom's post is "to my knowledge." This should give the reader [you] a clear indication that there is some uncertainty in the post.bigdog wrote:Your knowledge is incorrect, there are cuts. If you are going to come on here please know what you are talking about.
You could have taken the opportunity to correct and education with class instead of acting like a know-it-all peckerhead.

well, I was just going by what USCHO says are the NCAA rules, and they say there is no limit imposed by NCAA on how many players can be on a team. If anyone was "cut" by Paluch, I guess that's his right, but my understanding as of now is that there is no rule requiring it. If you can point me to the rule somewhere that says only 28 players, please do so.
There is a rule that only 18 players can have scholarships, only a certain number can be placed on the roster, and only so many can make the trip to an away game. Are we splitting hairs here?

what you have found out is right, there are restrictions on schollys and and travel roster. There has always been an unwritten rule with Paluch that he only wants 28 per team not sure if it is also a league rule but I have been told by players that there are no more cuts to be made. Hope all goes well, Windsor should be a garunteed win, if the boys can't pull it off tonight heads up for a brutal year.
