You're certainly not helping the cause...the program needs supporters and positive help...yes, there's likely some issues going on (where aren't there those issues)...those are for closed doors. You airing the dirty laundry is just as bad as creating it. The players and coaches need to be a team and work through those - which I'm confident that the current group is able to do that...
Yes, I'm frustrated with the lack of wins and ability to get the most out of the players and develop players, but I'm a Falcon Hockey Fan...I think Coach has the ability to turn this around - but likely should have a short leash...
Problem is, where do we go from here if he fails (which I'm confident he will succeed). If we can continue to improve from last year, I'm willing to stay the course and root the Falcons on to wins.
Dublin Falcon - I try not to get personal, but I could only take so much...

He offers a recent approach that I appreciate. Back in 1996 there was a question as to whether or not Buddy should stay - at that time the program had slid enough that peoiple were pushing the panic button, rightly so, IMO. 10 years later the program is worse off. People say Scott is a great coach and the arena is fine- really? Bottom line - what is his record?? I want him to suceed but I just ask that we look at that numbers. We needed to wake up a long time ago and be a proctive program and not rest on 1984. And no - even if I disagree w/someone I'm not getting personel - my opinion is that he (big dog) wants to see BG hockey do well. The name calling is BS - he has set out some sad but correct stats that we are overlooking.

rather, he offers the feedback from a disgruntled former player who didn't contribute as much as he could to wins and losses and prefers to blame it on somebody else. I'm sure he was part of the problem, not the solution and choses now to continue to be a problem.
BTW - he's gotten personal the WHOLE TIME with Pooch...he's started the name calling...also, what name did I call BigDog?
I'M DONE.

First I don't appreciate people going on about how i didn't help the program. You don't even know who I am.
Every year that i played at BG the rest of the team would ask the seniors who graduated to please stand up and say something about the poor situation with the coach. Every year they said they would, and for the most part they didn't. When I found this site I thought that I would finally do what everyone had asked me and that I had asked of the seniors ahead of me to do. It was a good oppurtunity to just show a different side of what is going on with the hockey team. Just try and let the public know what are some of the things that is really hindering this team from becoming great. (POOCH)
I am not doing this to be a sour graduate becuase i honestly hope the team will do well. I also know a lot of people out there hate me for what I have said on this site. All I am trying to do speak for the players that cannot say anything.

That's my point...why can't they say anything...why do you feel you have to take this approach? If it's that bad...somebody needs to be part of the solution...not wait till after the fact and bring it up then...
I'm sure there are things that Pooch does that players don't like (it's that way where ever you go), but if you (collective) choose to sit back and do nothing about it, you are simply contributing to the problem. When you come on here and air your dirty laundry it's not as productive as you would think.
I don't know all the goings on behind the scenes, but I'm sure that door goes both ways.

I just hope you have the balls to show up here on Sunday after we leave Oxford with a pair of W's this weekend.bigdog wrote:First I don't appreciate people going on about how i didn't help the program. You don't even know who I am.

Flagcityfalcon, I completely agree with you that this is not the best way to be doing this. But unfortunately, it is the only way I have to work with right now.
Please think if you were a player, would you want to speak up against your coach who controls your playtime and for some, their scholarships. What happens if a group speaks up and nothing happens, then I guaruntee you that they will no longer see the ice. I have sent my letter to the AD along with many others that have graduated in the past couple years. But the fact of the matter is that there is a new AD and he is going to see what happens this year.
I know that there is nothing going to happen this year, I also know that this is pooch's signing year. I just wanted to share to the fans of BG hockey and public what is going on behind the scenes. Thus with such a poor coaching record, and the fact that some of the fans of BG speak up then the man will not be resigned and can't ruin any other kids collage hockey experience.

What's interesting, and something that isn't being addressed here, is that the team was improving year by year until last year. My view of that is leadership within the senior class. A strong leader (Jordan) graduates with no one to replace him except a very vocal, condescending, senior class. What happens? The team back slides. Coincidence?
