way too much time on your hands BIGDog
Just can't let it go can you BigDog. Do I want to Identify myslef, not really but if you want to ask me something that would actually calrify that I was one of Pooch's players, go for it, I will answer what ever you want. You have already ,made it clear who you are through your postings on this board and it is pretty pathetic that you have to attack the program the way you are, it is kind of funny actually. Why is it that any player that doesnt go on in hockey can't face the reality but instead searches for excuses. Maybe once you realize that you will be able to move on. I dont think it matters who is coaching in BG right now what it comes down to overall is the facilities to help with recruiting, you could have Scotty Bowman coaching the team right now and the outcome wouldn't change too much. It takes a lot more than a coach to have a winning team. Pooch was a good coach and learned from one of the best in jerry york just give him the facilities and money that the wolverines or buckeyes have and then see what happens.
facilities, are you kidding me. My head hurts when you speak. Facilities don't do as much as you are saying. First I would never want to go to ohio state because even though the facility is unreal the atmosphere sucks. We don't even fill up the barn we have now so how can you justify building a new one. The record is the thing that brings players into teams. You could have the nicest facilities and the worst team, who would want to play there. Your scotty bowman comment is weak, and untrue. Also is you think I am bashing the school and the program, you need to read a little more careful. The only thing I have said is that there needs to be a new coach, nothing else.
GET RID OF POOCH!!!
I usually just stick to reading in this forum but he raises a good point here.bigdog wrote:Its amazing that when someone comes on to give Pooch praise then everyone believes every word. But when there are comments that others don't agree with then it is us that are liars.
Weird.
Why does everyone hate bigdog so much? You can tell through his posts that he cares about the hockey program. He is entitled to hate the coach and want him out. Hell if he is who he says he is he might be entitled to do it more than anyone. I know of some other forums on this site where it goes over quite well.
Whether he is right or not I have no idea. I am not a big enough hockey follower to cast such judgements. He is right though, you all are so quick to dismiss everything he says but then someone comes on here and makes a couple contradicting posts and they are viewed as a voice from above.

It's not that we suddenly believe/embrace FalconAlum's post, it's just that we find it nice to have someone post that has different feelings about Coach Paluch. I don't care what bigdog says, NOT ALL the players (on any team) feel the way he does. AND it's not that I don't think bigdog has a right to his opinions, it's the WAY that he shares them. Name calling, and such only makes him look like a whiner with a oversized feeling of "entitlement." It makes his credibility (and therefore, his claims) more than a little shakey and easy to dismiss. Personally, I am sick of hearing him say the same thing over and over. He's made his point. I do, however, LOVE it when he talks about the hockey games like he did with the Lake Superior posting. That presents a chance at some good game dialogue from people who have an inside view of the teams and games. We need to keep that kind of talk going! It's productive, meaningful and fun to read!!! With that said.....kdog27 wrote:I usually just stick to reading in this forum but he raises a good point here.bigdog wrote:Its amazing that when someone comes on to give Pooch praise then everyone believes every word. "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I agree that there is a perceived double standard. That's why I was mute on a response.kdog27 wrote:I usually just stick to reading in this forum but he raises a good point here.bigdog wrote:Its amazing that when someone comes on to give Pooch praise then everyone believes every word. I don't "hate" bigdog nor any of the Pooch naysayers on this board. I just wish they would add MORE to this forum besides their simple contempt for the current coach. I also don't appreciate the name calling from both camps (and I admit my guilt as well).
Finally, simply by reading FalconAlum's post, I can say for certain he is a previous player.

we have one, and thankfully the bad attitude no drive weak sticked, glass jaws are now gone...sit back and enjoy watchin this team, under a good coach grow and win.
and lets not forget this coach earned and won his NCAA ring in what was for a long long time the longest game played. He knows how to win becasue he is infact a winer. hard for quiters and losers to understand such an admirable trait I know.

Ummmm, I don't believe Pooch was on the 1984 championship team. He came in the year afterwards, if memory serves.MACMAN wrote: and lets not forget this coach earned and won his NCAA ring in what was for a long long time the longest game played.

Bowling Green won the NCAA National Championship at the conclusion of the 1983-84 season.FalconBlue wrote:Scott Paluch PLAYED FROM 1984-1988.
Scott Paluch's first season was the 1984-85 season.
He came in the year after the national championship was won, but was a part of some NCAA tourney and CCHA championship teams.

Hey bigdog, I think it's impossible to get through to these people. Obviously FalconAlum is Pooch himself trying to defend himself. You and I both know there is no player on the team who would ever say it out loud that he loved to play for pooch. Especially on this forum. Either that, or it's an administrative trying to make everything look nice nice for pooch.
I would also like to comment on the cursing of this chat room. Are you serious with that one FalconFanatic??? C'mon people, get real. I know I have been guilty of swearing but to actually use it against someone is plain retarded. So what if bigdog used a few choice words, everyone (who just loves pooch) has cursed too. You point fingers at those who curse only if you don't like what they are saying, yet you praise those who curse when they are for pooch. Give me a break....
And to whoever said something about the people who write on this forum (pooch haters) who have never made it to the next level, you have no clue what you are talking about. Many of the players who speak out against pooch on this forum have and did make it to the next level, so get your facts straight. I think it's pretty obvious who the players are who speak out. I think it's f'n hilarious to see an administrator and/or boosters try to play like they are a hockey alum. Trust me....the players all know who each other are, and FalconAlum is not one of them. Nice try though...you got some people talking.

I was NOT in the chat room last night. I was AT the game. There is another user on this forum who is "FalconFanatic" without a space between his user name. I believe this person is a current student. I am an alumni who graduated in 1981 have been going to BGSU hockey since since before you were born. Do NOT confuse me with that person.BGathletics24 wrote:I would also like to comment on the cursing of this chat room. Are you serious with that one FalconFanatic??? C'mon people, get real.
