Tonight we faced another embarrassingly poor performance. We understand that the team has been depleted by injury but when you consider the personnel decisions Pooch is making you have to wonder what the hell he is doing.
Neville cannot be expected to carry the team every weekend; he faced 33 shots again tonight and made 28 saves.
Special teams are unbelievably bad and are no better in games than they are at practice. Tragically only those of us who occasionally sneak in to the practices can vouch for the pathetic PP. Tonight we were 0-7 attempts.
We are not playing a skill game or a physical game. As of the Miami games we were ranked 1st in the CCHA for the fewest penalty minutes, 11.75 per game. We are 11th in scoring goals with 2.10 per game, 9th in the PK, 12th in the PP, 3rd in the number of shots (obviously not quality shots because we cannot score goals).
Our Power Play pct of .089 and Penalty Kill pct of .821 are among the worst in the CCHA, and our goalies have dropped out of sight with regard to save percentages.
Should I continue?
How do we fix this one?
We bench forwards who are capable of goals, we play defensemen out of position only to rest the first 3 lines of forwards and by the 3rd period the top lines are “dead” on their feet. We cannot match speed against speed or strength against strength for an entire game but we just keep plodding along.
Folks this is not good enough. This system is broken and I’m afraid we have leadership who cannot or will not fix it.
ND humiliated the Falcons tonight.

wasn't it 2-2 going into the 3rd period? that is a good sign.
Here's what I know:
ND is one of the most physical teams in the nation and I think it got the best of some people who started taking penalties, which killed us in the 3rd.
Our power play has been nonexistent for several years, and I know you don't want to hear it, but you can lay the blame squarely at Paluch's feet.
There are more BG players hurt than they are letting us know about, I guess not to let the opponent know who to go at, but if you watch closely, you can see several players are hurting who are on the ice.
On the very positive side, Danton Cole IS making a difference and when the new guy gets here it should be even better. He took a pathetic Sioux Falls team and made them champions in one season. I'm excited. I think Pooch will do the right thing and step aside and let these guys who REALLY know what they are doing take over.

I remind you...
Doug Schueller was an assistant at Sioux Falls and one of the coaches. The Head Coach was "the man".
I do however think he will be an asset to the hockey program.

Quite honestly the 3rd and 4th lines were more productive and physical in these games than the first two lines!Originally posted by FalconBlue:
