Tonight's game was frustrating to watch. BG dominated everywhere but the scoreboard and the powerplay. Spratt should have stopped the three goals he allowed. The first one was off the rush just trickled between his pads. He was there to make the save, but it went THROUGH him. The defenseman did a great job of playing his man cleanly, but he was still able to get his stick on the puck.

I really wish that a real center would have been put on the fourth line. That line actually has a lot of potenial for gaining momentum, but there is nobody to take faceoffs. Although I was glad to see them on the ice during the third period which hasn't happened much lately.

We really have no outstanding "faceoff" men on the team, that's 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines. The reason there are defensemen playing forward is because the coach in his wisdon has little faith in the available forwards.
The top faceoff man with the most ice time is below 50%:

11 Jonathan Matsumoto Games 12 Won 121 Lost 132 .478

Quite frankly some of the defensemen playing forward are better skilled than the "D" Pooch is playing. That is part of the problem, players are expected to perform out of position. In any event the 4th line may actually be the best line on the ice at the moment.

I just needed to rant for a minute. While I was watching the BG vs. OSU game Saturday night (the less painful night), I was extremely aggravated with my fellow students. Why?

Just a little ways away from wehre I was sitting were a group of 5 or so girls all wearing OSU jerseys and shirts. I was already sick of this game (I swear, it seems like nuclear war could have broken out and almost no one in the state of Ohio would have cared, as long as it didn't bother the UM vs. OSU game...it was ridiculous), but this capped it off.

Attendance was down since the football game was still going on. These girls come in their OSU apparrel, which just happens to be the team our beloved Falcons were battling with. These girls were cheering for BGSU while wearing their OSU clothes...wearing the oponents' colors?!?!?! I did not understand this. I could see cheering for OSU during the football game, but then to wear their colors while the Bucks are playing the team you are cheering for...didn't make sense to me.

Couple that with the painful losses this weekend...it made for a less than enjoyable hockey experience.
GO FALCONS!!

Saturday's game was embarrassing in regards to the crowd as a whole. Extremely quiet and generally un-motivated. I felt like I was watching a game at the Schott (not a compliment).

dude, its the state of OHIO. ohio state is the college team to root for whats not to understand? they were still cheering for bowling green hockey are you dumb? ohio state is the big ten champs and heading to another national championship after having an undefeated season i think they had plenty of reason to wear scarlet and grey its not like our football team is any good when they cant even defeat 1-9 Miami AT HOME.

Forget your meds today, Bauer? Oh, and here: "...." Please take these periods and place them where needed in the paragraph above.

Thank you.

I will at least say that they were at the game. Much better than the other 3000 ladies wearing OSU shirts at bars and parties. They still cared enough to know there was a game. Sure, I would be annoyed if I saw that too but they came out and that is more than you can say for most students.

Yes they looked like idiots but at least they rooted for BG.

I like your fire, young 'un, but let's keep it respectable.

Thanks.

I don't see a problem. More the question, why weren't the lasses asked to remove their clothing?

:-D

Seek out better alternatives.

What was even worse was the people watching the game in the Zamboni room couldn't look away for 60 seconds to honor America during the playing of the National Anthem. And people wonder why I say I hate Ohio State....
