He actually shows up most summers for the golf outing!! :-D
Does he have any eligibility left?

Don't be so hard on bigdog...he's bent out of shape re Pooch and equipment because Paluch wouldn't special order those double runner skates he wanted...

Not to doubt bigdog, he knows better than I do on what is going on in the lockerroom, but doesn't it seem like there are other issues also. Since 1990, four winning seasons from Jerry (a hall of fame coach), Buddy ( one of the hottest coaching prospects when he was hired), and Pooch (a good coaching prospect when he was hired).

Either they weren't as good of coaches as they were touted to be (with the exception of Jerry), or a tradition of pestilence is being passed from year to year amongst the team.

The latter will make for a difficult situation for any coach. Paluch dismissed players his first year, I would expect any new coach coming into this situation to do the same. If and when this happens, I certainly don't want to hear former players coming here and crying about it.

Hypothetically speaking, should the head coaching position open up after this season, who would be some of the logical candidates to take over?

My criteria:

1. Ability to recruit.
2. Ability to motivate players
3. Track record of overachievement

10,000. Past ties to the program (burned twice going this route)

I understand Casey Jones from Ohio State finished runner up to Paluch, the difference being (ironically) that Pooch related to the players better.

Who would be out there to fit such a profile?

Can someone with better memory and knowledge tell me their thoughts on Brian Hills. How was he during his 7 years here as an assistant? He recently returned to DIV I hockey after a successful stint as a head coach in DIV III. Money certainly was the reason to leave DIV III, even with his success.

THAT EXPLAINS IT - Classmate!!!!! I knew there was a reason I that you were a genius. I spent that first year in Rogers - ground east. Brother we saw great hockey in those days - if you could get a freakin' ticket.

At the last game, the Zamboni guy missed a strip by the South crease. I heard he does this to get in the goalie's heads.

Just to respond to Tech's comments a page back. I have not screwed with the players minds this season becuase I have been writing on here. They played wll at the beginning of the season becuase they played crappy teams. Those teams were awful. Thats why they played well against them. Also I was oon here way before they played their first game so that arguement is gone.
Secondly, what you have to realize and that I have already said many times before is that these players asked us seniors to go to the AD and try and get rid of coach. All the seniors knew that we would be judged and looked poorly upon for doing this but we thought we would do for the players and our good friends who were still on the team. They told us this is what they wanted just like we said that to the senior classes before us, the only difference is we are trying to do something.

Bigdog,
You can spin it however you want to. However, you have done much more harm than good for the falcons this year. Hopefully players do not waste their time on this site, but chances are that they do read this. You calling for Pooch's firing has no doubt been a distraction for the team. Maybe in the long run, if Pooch is fired, it will be what is best. I don't necessarily agree with that, but that is your opinion, and you are entitled to that.

Drago, please buddy. The players know what I am doing and many have asked me to do this. Many also talk to me congratulating me for continuing to tell the public what is truely wrong on the team. So please don't tell me I am harming or distracting the team. They have bigger issues to look at than to worry about what I am writing on this site, don't you think?
