That would be Craig Lisko. He also became a CCHA ref, though not sure if he is still reffing or not. Lisko would do that several times a game, too, if I recall correctly!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

No question about it; Mr Wilkins is the poorest excuse for a so-called ref in the poorest officiated conference in college hockey. Noone has displayed his level of incompetence since Rutheford resigned/retired/got canned or whatever happen to his sorry a$$.

I'm not sure we deserved any more than the one point we got this weekend, anyway...but nobody will ever know. I sat next to a gentleman from Minnesota during the second period, and he told me he'd followed the WCHA for 25 years, and that "if that guy (Wilkins) was in the WCHA, he'd have been fired on the spot"

Seriously tho, it's time we place the blame squarely where it belongs. Buddy Powers and the ice arena staff cost us the win. The left side post on the north goal is so loose and sloppy that it comes off anytime anybody stares harshly at it.

I'll agree with that statement. Even when Jimmy was down there the net came off several times on accident.

I've held my tongue (keyboard) long enough: please stop with the ref bashing. Nobody ever bitches about the refs when they're winning, only when they're losing. And unfortunately, there seems to be a lot more of the latter going on this season.

Having been to many of the lovely NCAA arenas throughout this great nation, I would say that as a league, the ECAC has the worst referees. That is not to say that I have not seen specific referees in other leagues do a worse job than any random ECAC ref you choose, but overall they're a little out of whack in the ECAC.

And I admittedly groan everytime I see Wilkins skate out, but I highly doubt that he has a vendetta against BGSU (or any other team). For the officials at this level, refereeing is a nice side gig, but they all have day jobs.

Don't get the idea that I'm a referee sympathizer... I like yelling at the stripes as much as the next fan :D But I just hate listening to fans whine about 'so and so ref hates my team.' If you can show me numbers to back this up, then I'll take it for more than just a grain of salt. Otherwise, just realize that bad calls are a part of the game. A frustrating part, but a part nonetheless.
