Not to light a cigarette next to your strawman, but you failed to mention Buddy's records.

I only state this because if you view the records before and after the date of Paul Olscamp's departure (1994/5) and beginning to Ribeau's administration, I believe you would find a definitive line of demarkation in the program's performance trend.

How many more years are we going to have to put up with this s**t?!

Back on Monday, I issued my prediction for this series, saying that we would be out in 2 straight. But I'll be the first to tell you, I'm not an expert. Anybody with half a brain could have seen this one coming, especially after the whole fiasco in Iowa just getting to Omaha. Yet for the whole week I sat back and held my tongue as I watched all of you post your orange and brown-covered predictions of competitive glory, most of you either predicted us to win or at least take one game in the series. Optimism is a good thing, unless if it is completely blind and only serves to set you up for the inevitable letdown coming your way. Us losing this series was freaking inevitable, we never had any chance from the start, especially once we got stuck on the way there. They had outscored us 20-3 in the four games we played them this season. Now this is two straight years now we've gone out to Omaha in round 1 and have gotten our behinds kicked.

Truthfully, I'm just glad we got out of dodge without getting completely embarrassed. We played pretty well on Friday and probably should have won the game. Today was uglier, of course. All things considered, I think we played pretty well this weekend. The only problem was, 3-2 and 7-5 losses were the BEST case scenario for us.

MACMAN, I disagree with just about anything you write anymore. The fact is that we just completed what could have been the WORST SEASON IN THE HISTORY OF FALCON HOCKEY! You keep talking about how Scott Paluch is such a great coach and how we are headed in the right direction as a program. With Spratt playing better down the stretch, we might do a little better next year b/c of him, but here's my point.

I don't see one reason why Paluch is a good coach. Not one. Not our win-loss record, not our gameplanning, not our recruiting, not our players' conduct off the ice, NOTHING! And though I'm skeptical of posters like freddythefalconBG and Bigdog, if what they say about Paluch's treatment of the players is true, I'd run him Paluch out of town on a rail tomorrow. You cannot act abrasively and cold toward your players, or you'll lose them. That goes for any level of sport. I just hope that this isn't the reason why we've been losing like we have.

Ive said things like this in one vein or another but lately I've decided to keep my mouth shut on this whole falcon hockey thing. I just hope its gets fixed sooner rather than later.

I rest my case against the Coach and the Administration.
You need to factor in the team that the coach inherited. You also need to look at the rest of the teams that were in the CCHA at each point in time.

Should we put together a preliminary committee together to select a committee to figure out whats wrong with the hockey program?

With Pooch 0-10 in the playoffs and this team getting worse by the year it is time for some drastic changes.

I believe we need to clean house, the losing culture that is developing here is unbelieveable. Can we please stop recruitng crappy Alberta junior hockey league forwards that put up 15 pts in a 70 game junior season. Is it a coincidence when they get here and avg 1 goal a year?

Half of the fans on this board now are happy with close 1 and 2 goal losses.

I think many of the people on this board know a drastic change, whatever that may be, needs to happen. But since you are so adamate about seeint a new coach I will presume you have contacted the AD with your donation of over $200,000.00 to buy the contract out. Thanks for that...

I really like to support BGSU coaches and get disgusted hearing people want to fire coach Brandon and coach Dakich, but there's a real issue here with Paluch. He's brought in some great talent but does nothing with it and hasn't made any real noise in the CCHA in the past couple of years outside of a couple of upsets over Ohio State and Michigan. I'm ready to see a new coach come in.

You are very correct in your comments about the Buddy Powers era 1994 - 2002 and Dr. Ribeau 1995. They both started at about the same time.

The 1994 - 95 team was 2nd in the ccha. That team included a senior named Holzinger. 8 years 135 - 149 - 26
Comparing eras is valid. MSU, LSSU WMU, ND have always been in the CCHA. In the early 70'S we played RPI, Hew Hampshire, Mich Tech, and Clarkson.
Ron Mason competed agaianst the same CCHA that you see today.
The variable is the amount of $$$ that MSU et al have put into the facilities and the program.

2 major events in BG hockey :
Flanagan dying of cancer, Dr. Ribeau taking over as President of the University. BG Hockey has never been the same since.

Our home computer is being serviced right now and I didn't catch any scores until today. 7-29-2? I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. I think a change is needed. Half the time this team was getting beat by 4, 5 or more goals. That's like getting beat 35-7 in football every game.

I had high hopes for Paluch since he was a great player as a Falcon. But, this isn't working and I hate seeing such a proud program reduced to ashes. The CCHA is a tough as nails conference but BG should be able to at least compete.

I would like to get Falcon Fanatic's, BG Fan's, bg bill's and a few other viewpoints on what needs to be done.

It can't get any worse. :(

Just buy him out. Falcon Club members should contribute. Unbelieveably, he is already making a case to blame the players for the disaster. What a creep. Just wait and see.

haha, about AJHL players who can't score, if you look at any of the players who came from everywhere, USHL, BCHL, etc., some of these guys were the top scoring forwards in their leagues, some of these guys were the top scoring defensemen in their leagues, but they come to BG and can't score at all. Yeah, they all forgot how to score. It ain't the players who suck. Complete opposite, they actually tried even harder as the year went on rather than quitting, but still can't buy goals. Unger made a huge statment saying it might be my last game so in your face and going out and doing what earlier he couldn't do (4 goals against UNO) because it would be "outside of the offensive system" and he would take S**t for it. We had it going and then a bonehead line change gives a goal to UNO - THAT'S the coach's fault. Who's he gonna smear as the bad apples this post season?

Or is it time for a petition to the Board of Trustees. President and AD?

http://www.petitiononline.com/petition.html

Who knows how to craft an effective petition? Should there be some legal review of whatever is created?

It's time to do more than talk. There are 1,273 registered members on this forum. Even 1/2 of that is an impressive number.
