College Hockey at UT...hum

Why not? Look at it like this..the two old guys at Tamo were on to something today. the new sports arena will be basically state of the art...toldedo could easil hook into CHA and in short order make legit runs at taking that conference and taking shots at the frozen four. The toledo area has huge following of youth and HS hockey, far larger than BG does so that is asses in seats. the sports arena could easily add a permanent Rocket locker room and visitor room for College. that would bring more people more often to down town toledo. two years is not that bad for starting from scratch...a couple games a year against BG would not be so bad either. Lord knows the new sports arena will shame BGs ice house...for a while.
sounds to me like UT should be shopping for a D1 hockey program...it sure as hell couldnt hurt.

I think the cost of a hockey program would be too much for them to take on right now.

Interesting idea, but colleges are cutting programs, not adding them and hockey is one of the more expensive. The alumni would have to really want it and contribute accordingly.
