Jordan Sigalet : part of documentary in production

Post by bgbill »

A documentary video is underway that covers several hockey goalies who are overcoming medical/physical obstacles to pursue their passion. Jordan was an obvious choice.
Mind-Body-Mask is the name of the project. The website is decent, and offers a forum.

Pitty, he is actually a reasonable goalie. You will probably have a girl, a gay and a minority just to comply with the PC requirement. There are hundreds of these cases that go on every day without fanfare with all the struggles associated with the challenge.

Normally I would just presume a post like this is the result of a bad day. But in your case we all know being an ass is just your usual disposition. If you feel there are so many other cases that are not getting enough attention maybe you could do your own project like the one above and ther their stories out too.

Thanks for the interest in our project and for providing us with some much needed publicity! We are very passionate about this subject and our film and are looking forward to sharing the stories of these amazing individuals with a wide audience. And yes, you are correct, Jordan WAS an obvious choice. Truth be told, meeting him last summer and hearing his story was the original inspiration for the film.

If anyone would like any further information on the film or have any questions or comments to share, we encourage you to contact us.

Thanks again and look for Mind-Body-Mask in 2008!

You just don't get it, do you? :(

Those "hundreds (actually hundreds of thousands) of cases that go on every day without fanfare" are precisely the reason why it's so important that those in the spotlight step up and allow their stories to be told. MS is a condition that scares the daylights out of many; (not just those suffering themselves from the conditioin) but also their families, friends, employers. potential employers, and society in general.

Somewhere out there, there's an MS patient ready to give up on his dreams, or even his life. This very minute, there's a personnel manager wondering if he can justify suggesting his company invest capital to hire a qualified candidate desipte the fact he has MS. Those people need to see and hear success stories, like Jordan's.

Personally, I would have went with a "Kentucky Calendar Girls Gone Wild" tape, but your idea is much better and appropriate.

I've known a number of people with MS, and you've no idea how true this is. Since I've known Jordan, I tell everyone that I meet with MS about him. He is an absolute inspiration in every sense of the word. To that point, I have often asked myself if I were in that position, would I be willing to take on the type of leadership role that Jordan has over the past few years? The best answer I can come up with is "I don't know."

God bless and keep Jordan, and may he be an inspiration for many.

Aweseome article! Keep us posted on your progress. This is SUCH a neat project that we all take a personal interest in!!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. Here's the latest on the project from Cheryl at Nittany Films.

Hello Mind-Body-Mask friends,

We need your help. Mind-Body-Mask (www.mindbodymask.com), a documentary film about ice hockey goalies with various disabilities, needs your help to proceed. Presently we are in the post-production phase and are in need of funds to complete this film. Our hopes for this film are to screen it at film festivals next year and eventually distribute it for theatrical release.

This film production is 100% non-profit with all of our proceeds going to the 6 charities selected by our featured goaltender participants (see website for details). I am asking that you consider making a tax-deductible donation of ANY amount (personal or business) to help us finish this film. $10, $100, $500, whatever you can contribute. Please help us to bring these inspirational stories to the big screen. Remember ANY amount will help and it is tax-deductible. Click here to donate: http://www.mindbodymask.com/Donate.html.

Please forward this email to any friends, hockey fans or fellow humanitarians that might be interested in helping out. If everyone donates even a little, we will be that much closer to finishing this project that you can say you helped with! Thank you.

Those of us involved in Mind-Body-Mask appreciate your help. Again, please forward this on.

Cheryl

I think maybe the "." at the end of her donate link makes the link incorrect.
