I don't think he seemed cocky at all. More like an excited kid. He also said he is definately playing for AT LEAST two years. We can't automatically assume thatafter two years he will move on. He also stated he was dedicated and committed to coming in and helping BG. We can put away the 'jump to conclusions mats' now.
Yeah right girl!

Unfortunately, I didn't see Kai's name thru the first 7 rounds.

His name didn't come up in a Google News search, so I'm guessing he didn't get picked.

It's a matter of perspective....

To me some of the quotes came across as "I'm good and I know it".

I've been around this program a long time and most of the players DO NOT like over the top egos. If they perceive that type of attitude from him he better be able to back it up between the pipes. And, even if he does, they could make it difficult for him.

I remember Jimmy being quoted that he was going to take BG to the next level.

He was right, in a way.

As a former sportswriter I know it is easy to read too much into a quote you see in the newspaper. A lot of times a very unassuming kid will sound like Joe Willie Namath in a printed quote.

Lets remember something, there are other drafted goalies all over the CCHA. Most first rounders don't leave college after two years because they still aren't ready and he will be jumping iunto a backup role. Jimmy Spratt will be the starter in BG and Unice will help Greer open the door on the bench. Let me also remind you that Jimmy Spratt is also a NHL drafted goalie and without him between the pipes this past year, those many losses would have been much more embarassing. And by the way, I have met this kid and watched him play, his mouth is better than his goaltending ability. If his GAA is even in the high 3's this year I will be suprised.

Horrell bring the heat with that post.

I think he will start more than you think given the fact that BG will be near the bottom of the pack again this year. After Spratt plays about 8 of the first 10 and we have only 2 or 3 wins Unice will begin to see more time.

I think Spratt will be in the top half of goalies in the league this year but given the nature of defensive breakdowns and odd man rushes we give up we must be reminded that it took a top 3 Hobey candidate to lead us to a .500 record.

We cant accuse Unice of being cocky when half the people on this board predict home ice for the playoffs.

In other words this is a long rebuilding process, lets not get too excited over duck taping the muffler back on.

Half? Surly you jest....

I only know of 1 and the last I checked we have more than 2 posters.

Spratt is a good goalie and, at times, even a great goalie. On the flip side, I've seen him be downright bad. If he can become consistently great (or even consistently "pretty damn good"), he'll play. He has yet to do that.

I thought it was half of the posters I read in previous threads that were thinking a top 6 finish. Maybe it was just the same guy posting 25 times. Thanks for the correction.

Sort of the on the topic of brainless predictions, John Kitna said the Lions would win 10+ this year.

Any takers for the Falcons top three in the CCHA?
