Another improvement...

Post by Metz »

The hockey team got a new air-horn that will go off when we score goals now. If they keep doing small improvements (section banners, air horn, etc.), maybe the whole arena will start to shape up over the next few years.

Speaking of improvements:

This is one heck of an accomplishment!!! It won't be long until we're back at the top of the CCHA with recruiting like this!

So does the horn sound like a truck, boat, or train?
Notre Dame has a beautiful brass jobber hanging from the ceiling - at least 3 horns on it.

I have yet to hear it...just heard about it from one of the players today. He said it was louder than the last one though.

I can't wait to hear the horn, but are KIDDING ME BGFan?!?! We have three skaters in the top 30?!? And the only other team in the country with three in the top 30 is the REIGNING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS?!?!?!?!

It took me five minutes to respond to this because I passed out for a while after reading that...

This is a very good thing to have. At the ND game, I can't count how many times people started cheering because they thought BG scored. Look at the lamp people!

Do you think we could get a better sound system in the Ice Arena now? When Brandon spoke at the ND game you couldn't even hear what he was saying.

Any sound system will sound terrible in that place until they replace the metal roof. That thing just eats up the sound. Some have commented about how much better Glick was at announcer, and I agree with them. You could hear him clearly. However, he had the volume turned up so loud just so you could hear him that he kept blowing the speakers! Right now the town cryer, hung from a basket at center ice would be louder than any sound system we could put up. And I would love to see how many times we could hit him with the puck
