I'm ashamed to admit that, for a while, I was beginning to believe them. After the beginning of this season, though, I believe that my first inclination may have been right. I don't doubt that some of what has been said is/was true but I also believe that the attitudes of many of the former players played a bigger role in the team's problems then Pooch did. (Bad attitudes from upper classmen can have a devastating affect on team chemistry.) Having talked to some of the players and several of the parents this past weekend, the outlook and attitude of this team is sky high. Why? Is it possible that Pooch has done a complete 180 in his coaching philosophy? Or has something else changed like, perhaps, the exit of the last of the negative influences maybe? Inquiring minds want to know.

Not a 180 in Coaching that is consistent and steady. What has happened is that now (and including last year) we just have the right players, who not only believe in the methodology and system they fit it. The addition of TR is bing boost to those methodologies as well, and add in some strong goalie coaching ( have you noticed how quite is Sprats feet are this season...in just the past few months he crossed into that next level of play) All the component are here, the tools and its showing, from the end of last season and moved into this season.
The big issue was as you mentioned the players before, being left for a system that did not fit them, sure some adjusted but the rest whined and revolted. It was a mess..that is gladly not even visible anymore in the rear view mirrors.

As one that doesn't follow the hockey team as closely as some, I wondered why Paluch was given the extension with his record. All I can say now is I am so happy to see this team winning so early in the season. I am so busy stalking, I mean, following the football team like a Deadhead so that's where my main focus is. But to see BG shoot outta the gate like this is too cool...and awesome. When I enrolled at BG in '86, hockey was KING. I mean this program was winning 30+ games or so every year. It was a blast to show up 2 hours before game time with a flask in the pocket and stand in line to get in and get a seat.

I've learned quite a bit about the game and it is one of the most exciting sports to watch. If this winning continues, I'll be led to believe it was the negative attitudes of the former players that caused this team to lose 29 games last year.

At any rate, ICERS KEEP IT GOING!!! This program has waaaaaaaaay to much tradition and past success to not succeed again.

Don't worry everyone, I'm here.
See I knew all you out there love me and miss me when I'm not on here.
My response is: Congrats to the team, it is good to finally see the boys winning. As much as I hate Pooch, I am more happy to see the guys having fun playing hockey again. (didn't happen much before)
Although I would advise everyone to keep their witts about them, we are talking about 2 good weekends. Really good mind you but still only 2. There is a lot of hockey to be played this season so everyone relax.
I wouldn't go popping the cork and booking your reservations for the Joe just yet, I stand by my standpoint that Pooch will screw this one up too.

I agree with bigdog. I am happy the boys can win few games and get some national ranking. however they played to bottom teams that they should beat. I wish them the best But it is inevitable that with pooch head calling the shots the teams 4th place and national ranking will not last for too long. when we played at BG I believe we were ranked around 19 for a bit but that changed with the steller coaching of the Poooch!

It will be sad to see another year go to waste because that idiot is still the head coach of our team. let's see what happens when he is playing a team like michigan and its a 1 goal game and he calls a time out and is so nervous that he can't even draw up a face off play. Yeah that happened more times than I can count on one hand. what a joke.

BGSU is a mid upper level CCHA team and GROWING. So if we loose to the Redmen, or MI or MI state or ND, or to Wisc. or any team.. that is some how a bad reflection on the coach? Brilliant......your both delusional still, we have been this road before and you cant pin it on the coach. The methodologies, and tactics are well proven, true...what has changed is that our whining personnel issues are behind us and we now have a team with heart, drive, speed and the willingness to play in the system.

MACMAN...
It is going to be nice when our bet pays off and you are no longer allowed to post on here. Your the only delusional one on here. Its time to take your head out of Pooch's $%$ and enjoy the fresh air. You should try but be sure to wipe that brown stuff off your nose too.

Guys. Knock it off. Things were finally getting civil around here.

Yes, the team is doing well and we all should enjoy it. No, it's not the end of the season yet, it's barely the beginning, there's plenty more hockey to be played.

MACMAN doesn't like bigdog and bigdog doesn't like MACMAN or Pooch. We know already.

Let's just make an attempt to be civil with each other for a while and enjoy the wins.

I can't stand MACMAN either. I think he is the biggest retard and has the least hockey sense out of anyone I have ever been in contact with. He doesn't know his ass from his elbow.

Then ignore his posts.
Lord knows I don't read every single post on the site and I'm sure there are plenty of people who skip over my posts.
