Yeah but i'm not putting any trust into these rankings when Minnesota State is 20th, sporting a lovely record of 3-7-4 in their conference, and right behind them is Michigan Tech who is below .500 overall. (Not to mention, Air Force is next and I couldn't even name another team in their conference?) Follow where I'm going here??

It's like in football when Florida could finish 6-6 and still be in the Top 20. It's name recognition (or something like that) and we're known as being a bottom feeder in a conference that's been down over recent years. Those schools (Michigan Tech & Minnesota St.) play against the almighty Minnesota, Colorado College, Denver & North Dakota, so even though they always lose the must still be good right? The WCHA is the same thing as the SEC in football. Because there have been a couple really good teams in recent years, the entire conference is undeservingly put on a pedestal as being good when really they're a fraud.

We need to worry about getting business done and winning the CCHA. The rankings don't mean a thing.

Pet peeve:
Bowling Green is not ranked 25. Bowling Green is also receiving votes. This particular poll only goes to 20, and I'm not even sure it should go that far. DI hockey only has 59 (and soon to be 58 ) teams. Claiming to be 25 is that environment isn't all that great... it's really kind of saying you're just above halfway.

Don't mind my grumpiness... it's been a hell of a day.

In terms of teams receiving votes, they are being ranked.

Any SID would love to call their team ranked.

And I would [have] call it what it is: also receiving votes.

It irked me as well, when our website had us ranked 21st. HOCKEY GOES TO 20!!! You don't see the teams in basketball claiming they are ranked 26th because at some point you need to draw the line. In 2A hockey it is at 20!

I would say the CCHA has been very consistent, and not down.
and to go from where we were last year and sliding to the two years prior...well folks half is s**t to be excited about!!! Better yet we are better than half!
See my point...this is giant stride forward...and were not done yet!

This year has been a pleasant surprise. I thought we'd be garbage without Matsumoto. Speaking of John congrats to him on playing great in the A on a first place Phantom team.
