First PairWise Rankings out and..........no BG.....

This early in the year the PWR pretty much is the same as the RPI rankings, which has us 26th. So you figure we are 26th in the PWR also. Pretty disappointed in our RPI, we have played UM, ND, Miami, Northeastern and UW.......how can it be so low??? I realize we lost those games, but I thought we played a pretty tough schedule so far.......seems like they way overvalue the WCHA in those RPI ratings.

We really need to start sweeping teams like WMU if we are going to have any chance of reaching the national tourney. I just hope the NMU loss and Saturdays LSSU loss don't come back to bite us in the tail feathers.

The RPI and PWR are both objective numbers, and (unlike polls) give no bias to 'name' programs or conferences. We're #26 on the RPI because our 'strength of schedule' is below avarage at #32. Yes, we've played some strong teams...but have played MORE games against WEAK teams:
#36 Niagara, #39 Ferris, #43 RIT, #44 Northern, #49 Lake State, #52 Western, #53 Wayne. Those opponents account for 12 of the 20 games we've played, and worse yet, we lost of those games.

I seriously don't understand why people get all bent out of shape about PWR and RPI in January. So much changes between Jan. and the end of the season that the numbers vary wildly.

I guess it's fun to play 'what if' but I'd rather just wait to see how it all shakes out.

The fact that we're even discussing this right now is indicative of how far we've come in a year's time.

I'd love to say that BG has a chance at an at-large, but it would take the mother of streaks for us to get there. We could just win the tourney and eliminate all doubt.

cool as that is and ambitious, dont forget Damn good as we are, we are making a return, and not yet ready for a place in that arena yet. A trip to the Joe is a stretch this year...lets keep taking steps forward and not leaping yet...we have agood thing going, lets grow it and make the joe in 2-3 years and then we can start about title runs.
