Just to further re-iterate how big this goal was, look at the scoreboard. Tied game, 30 seconds left in the 3rd. Nash had a penalty for high-sticking just minutes before that let the Coyotes tie the game up.

The Mullet Melrose called it a better goal than Ovechkin's falling-behind-the-back marker last year.

I thought of the Ovechkin goal, too. (Though I thought that was 2 years ago...) His was sweet, but it was as much luck as skill... Nash's weighs much more heavily on the skill side.

I miss the CBJ... :(

The goal of the year is the Jonathan Toews goal against Colorado early this year.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e-UmeAqpx4

Wow, yeah, I saw that on the recaps last night after I saw the Wings. That goal was great!

I was there and that was a great, great play by Nash, however he did get a little lucky that Tellvquist's poke check, which knocked the puck off his stick, then hit him in the pants and bounced right down in front of him.

Why Morris didn't just knock him on his @ss when he saw Ballard was back also I have no idea. Hindsight 20/20 I guess.

Decent game though, Jackets played well early and could have been up 3-4 goals in the first, then they held on for dear life in the 3rd and we outplayed them pretty badly. But their guys scored two highlight reel goals to keep the 'Yotes from getting at least a point. Hopefully we play a full 60 minutes against the Hawks tomorrow....

I rarely stay up to watch the west coast games, but I watched last night and jumped off the couch with that goal. Danny Gare sounded like a giddy little kid on the postgame show when they kept showing the replay. The Jackets being in contention for a playoff spot this late in the season is pretty exciting.
