We may be watching the birth of a great, great coach right now. :-)
I just got back from ND! AWESOME win by the boys!!! And BO, you are absolutely right about this coaching staff! They deserve all the credit for what they are doing with this team. The smiles on those guys when they came out of the locker room was fantastic to see!!

WELL DONE FALCONS!!!

All I can say is...HOLY SH*T WE BEAT NOTRE DAME!!!

I honestly thought I would never live to see the day. For seventeen freaking games we'd been denied, virtually all of them being losses, many of those of the lopsided variety. To have such ineptitude against one team for so long was dumbfounding. This was a hex that really even the dreaded Miami Whammy and dastardly Family Weekend Jinx couldn't touch in terms of number of defeats without a victory. And now, thanks to another brilliant effort by the guys and a phenomenal coaching job by coach Williams, its OUTTA HERE!!

So here we are, having scored one win (and coulda, shoulda had two) this weekend, and looking good in conference play against good teams. All I know is that evidently, I need to keep posting negative stuff about jinxes and about us getting swept, because when I do, we win. :-D

Edit: I should also point out that to break the streak of dispair tonight, following a loss yesterday that was practically the definition of being cursed and/or snakebitten, makes this all the more impressive.

Um, not to piss on the parade, but it wasn't actually a "win." It's officially a tie with BG gaining an extra point through shootout.

BG is still winless against ND in the last 17 tries and is now 34-8-5 [?] against the raging popes.

Way to go Boys! I like this team and think that if the first two series of the year were played now, the results would be different. Keep up the great work Falcons...Ay Ziggy Zoomba!

Fair enough. I was actually thinking about that, too.

But - isn't this the first year the CCHA has used shootouts in the event of ties? Although I understand it goes down officially in the standings as a tie, I feel like, at least to me, it counts for something.

Aw great, now my brand new orange sweater is soaked in your piss.

It's going to take me three weeks to get this out. Thanks for nothing RUIT.

Send me the dry cleaning bill.

I believe this is the first year for a shootout to determine an extra point. This is the first year for the CCHA's new point system [3pts for a win, 1 each for a tie plus an additional point for the winner of a shootout.]

Very true, but I'll take it! :D The Irish have dominated us for years and the fact that we took them to OT twice and then won the shootout is huge for this team moving forward. Maybe we can take this shootout win and get the all out win when we play them later this season.

It WILL happen!!! Go Falcons!

I think Nick Eno going 3 for 3 stopping shots is bigger...

And this is the second year for shootouts in the CCHA. Last year, games that went to shootouts ended up being worth 3 points. This year the CCHA changed so every game is worth 3 points.

Of course. My apologies for not pointing that out. Eno came up huge for us with all of the pressure on him.

Agree on all counts. Yes it was a shootout win, but to those buys...IT WAS A WIN OVER ND!! They sang Ay-Ziggy in the locker room too!! Taking the Irish to OT in both games speaks VOLUMES about how far this team has come and how far they expect to go!! WELL DONE BOYS!!! We're SOOOOOOOOOO proud of you!!!

GO ICERS!!
