Thanks for the insight, PG. It's just so disappointing to see the program on the bottom for so long now.

You're absolutely right. However, our record reflects the state of the program over the past 3-4 years. We've got some good recruits coming in, and since we have a committment from the University, I think we'll see things starting to look up in the near future. It will be a few years, though, for sure.Falconfreak90 wrote:Thanks for the insight, PG. It's just so disappointing to see the program on the bottom for so long now.

I sure hope so...I really feel for the hockey crazies like Falcon Fanatic, BG Fan, bgbill and a lot of others that have put so much time and effort into supporting the team. Football is my fave BG team but I was at BG in the late 80's and really learned what BG Hockey was all about. To see the program get back to that level would be the best.toddpav wrote:You're absolutely right. However, our record reflects the state of the program over the past 3-4 years. Re: Short Week: Short Game Thread
I firmly believe that Coach Williams knows what he is doing, if the athletic department keeps him around you will see changes for the positive in the future. It will take some time and patience and continued monitary support from outsiders, fans, alumni, community members, etc, to keep up wiith others in the CCHA. This isn't going to be a one year fix, we didn't get here in one year and won't turn it around in one year. Continued support and improvement each day we will see the Ice arena full every weekend soon enough. So far this year BG is 2-7, in one goal games, 2 of those OT loses, and 2-5 in two goal games. That's 16 of 30 games are either 1 - 2 goal games. The falcons are in games and competing, I'm not going to make excuses as Bill Parsells says "You are what your record says you are" We are on both extremes of fewest goals scored and most goals allowed. Our lack of offense is putting extra pressure on the defense and goaltending, which both have about a zero percent error in order to succeed. Going on the theory defense wins games and championships. We need quality defenseman that can handle the puck up ice and through traffic and potentially be a scoring threat from the point. Reducing the goals allowed would be the first thing of concerned. For example, BG had a tough time skating the puck up ice on power plays against Miami several times this weekend. I'm hopefully for Falcon Hockey and will continue to attend games I hope others do the same. Let's beat ND.
I hope the girl that got hit with the puck is doing better and recovering fast.

We put this to bed but we don't forget. We are not very good now but we will be good again. We can say what we want about Miami but they are a very good team. Three or four years down the road we WILL be good and Miami will be having a down year and nobody here will forget such a drubbing and all the silly recycled "sieve" chants. We get it, you are better than us right now. I am still trying to explain this to my 7 year old who heard stuff that you don't want your kid hearing. Let's get a couple of wins this weekend against the Irish. We will be a CCHA power again. You can take that to the bank.
Re: Short Week: Short Game Thread
Why on earth did it take the band ten goals before they figured out they could drown out the Miami fans? Surely they were doing the same chants on Friday night?dforde wrote: all the silly recycled "sieve" chants

Of course, as you inadvertently noted, that's because YOU grew up in a rich suburb populated by families who buy their offspring expensive cars. Miami is a uniform monoculture of rich kids like BG is populated exclusively by STD-riddled sheep-shaggers.DWhite21 wrote:I 100% agree with you on the the fact that the majority of Miami students think that they're better than everyone else. I've honestly never found a more narcissistic, stuck up group of people at one place in my entire life. Most of the people that I've met who go there are from rich suburbs, drive $20,000+ cars that their parents bought for them, and walk around with a swagger and arrogance as if the world owes them something. I honestly wonder how they all ended up at the same school. I'm also speaking from experience. One of my best friends goes there and since I'm living in Cincinnati now I go up to JCrew U about twice a month.musicman2343 wrote:

As for the games, I wasn't there so I can only go by what everyone else is saying. If a Miami student deliberately shot the puck into the stands he shouldn't be playing hockey for the rest of the year, IMO. The Miami student section is one of the most classless I've ever seen. If Wingels can't put up with a little heckling from our student section he's pretty soft.
This is all just another reason why watching them blow that National Championship game last year was one of the highlights of my life as a hockey fan.
As for this Allen County native, I've said before and will repeat that I didn't go to Miami because I had parents with a six-figure income; I went to Miami because I wanted to have kids whose parents have a six-figure income.
But, hey, enjoy the stereotypes.

If you guys want to have this conversation, do it in PM's. No need to clutter up a thread with this useless BS. Why'd you even feel the need to stoop down to that level?DevilGrad wrote:Of course, as you inadvertently noted, that's because YOU grew up in a rich suburb populated by families who buy their offspring expensive cars. Hall has returned to the top of my worst-CCHA-officials list. Langseth dethroned him a couple of seasons ago, but his performance Saturday was remarkable.

Still don't see anywhere in that video where BG ends up with an extra 5 for fighting.Falcon Frenzy wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TyLZDGuE2M

Interesting comment made in the Sentinel-Tribune article on the game.
Oh well, over and done with and we ain't gonna do jack about it now. Bring on the Irish.

I'm not even going to touch the other comments you made. It's definitely not worth my time.

Uh, dude? They didn't say BG was full of kids with STDs, they were actually saying the opposite.

If that's the case, then I just misread the tone/sarcasm of his second sentence, which is easy to do over the internet. Either way, he still reinforces my point with his comment about how much money he's going to make because he went to MU. I'm done here. Sorry for cluttering up the thread with this stuff. I didn't expect some random Miami fan to come on here and respond.Peregrinner wrote:Uh, dude? They didn't say BG was full of kids with STDs, they were actually saying the opposite.

As for why BG was shorthanded for 7 minutes, Perkin was given a minor for something and then a major for grabbing the facemask, not for fighting. I don't know if that makes a difference, but that would likely be why.
As for the Miami guy, going to one school doesn't guarentee you anything, education is what you make of it. Just because you go to Harvard law school doesn't mean you are going to be a fantastic lawyer if you don't work hard. And I am unaware of any academic reputation Miami has, since I have spent the first 18 years of my life in Las Vegas and California. If you ask anyone out there what they think of Miami University, they would still draw that to the Hurricanes.
