"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

red army...what are they selling hope and change...seems to me their energy would be better spent on the officials who made the mistake, and not the guy who kicked their sorry asses.
Seems to me JST and company will kick their buts in regulation this time, esp since JST has said he likes hostile crowds.
Thanks duh mavs for getting our guys pumped up for this one...with a touch of classless racism to boot.

Well, I hate to say it, but I've been to two BG-UNO games up there, and have enjoyed myself quite a bit both times. In addition, I had no problems with their fans, and found them to be respectful.

Sorry...

Hey thats how it happens, I mean I have heard the horror stories about Michigan fans at Yost and Miami fans from the QF series a couple years back, yet I have had zero fan issues at Yost, and had none at that series at Miami. Didnt have any problems with any other UNO fans I encountered

Thanks for the link, FF. It served as a helpful reminder that I need to call my septic guy.

Didn't MavRick, who made the first post, used to be one of the "classier" Duh Mav fans? FF, what was the name of the other MavJerk who used to post? He came to BG on one of the VERY few occasions that they played in our arena and claimed he tried to meet some of us and we avoided him.

At any rate, I am sooooo glad the CCHA will be rid of them. At least their self proclaimed rivalry with us will finally be over. Of course we never saw enough of their team in our arena to even think of them as rivals! :?

We hosted them 5 weekends in the last 10 years (seems about normal for a non-cluster mate) and this will be the third time we go there for the playoffs in that timespan. Of course if we had gotten home ice for the playoffs more often it might not seem so lopsided.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

I always thought it was funny that they just "picked" us a rival, but lets face it, we won the first National Title for the CCHA, and had been a consistantly dominating force. Its really a sign of respect I think.

Good call, Mac. I agree completely.

I think that MavRick's post on Mavpuck is a brilliant, classic rant...and just the type of stuff that a home team ought to be trying to organize to get inside our player's heads. We need to do more stuff like this ourselves.

PS, I've met MavRick, and he really is a nice guy. I am disappointed, however that my user name/password has apparently been deleted from their board. I've been trying all week to get it re-activated, but can't get any response from their forum administrator.

Well, all my fellow Falcons, rest assured that the Mavs home court advantage will not be enough to pull out a victory...
