Sorry I didn't post the final but we came up short 4-2. We had a 5 minute power play at the end of the game but couldn't convert. I've posted a recap over at http://bgsuhockey.wordpress.com/blog

My thoughts about the game:
- Agreed with Coach after the game: It was a lot closer than the scoreboard indicated. It was night and day compared to last night's game.
- Wasn't Hammond's best game but he settled down as the game went along.
- The freshmen are still catching up to the speed of the game but I've been impressed on how well they have stepped into their spots.

There was a night and day difference between Friday and Saturday night. The team settled in and really clamped down defensively. UM was getting extremely frustrated because we weren't allowing them to skate causing them to again take some stupid penalties. Like the coach said, eliminate two mistakes on special teams and this is a completely different game.

Does anybody know why Potacco isn't on the roster anymore?
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

I know he is with the Walleye, at least for the preseason, he scored a goal in their exhibition game Wednesday night

Potacco left the team about halfway through the season last year.

Great to see lots of hockey tailgaters this weekend especially Saturday. We were out there Saturday from 3:30 until game time and saw two other groups there. We were also out there after the game and Ian Ruel stopped by to chat.

dforde - I would agree with the tailgaters. We were out there about 5pm. I would still like to continue to tailgate hockey games throughout the season. Don't let the weather keep tailgaters away, looking forward to the next home game to tailgate again.

Good Luck Falcons. Go get a pair in Clarkson.
