SATURDAY:

End of 1st Period: 0-0
Shots: BG 9 LSSU 6
One penalty (Sumsion for Faceoff Interference)
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Good guys get on the board first. McIntosh given credit for the goal on a crashing rush. Rodriguez and Solway get assists. 1-0 after 2. BG's dominating this one so far with the shots at 23-10.

Yeesh.....out shot 17-5 in the 3rd!!

Falcons dodged a major bullet when the Laker goal was disallowed on a quick whistle by the ref...thankfully!
Going to OT!!

Well, looking at this last series, I am encouraged. We out played the Lakers both nights and just needed to score a couple more goals for two wins. Or two less goals allowed. =D> Of course that would have been two shutouts. Either way the team played well this weekend. Last year I felt like LSSU really took it to us physically. This year I thought we did not get pushed around. Although two points helps us a little it is still very disappointing not to have all six points from this weekend.

A final note: CCHA should abandon the shootout. They should play 4 on 4 for five minutes and then 3 0n 3 for five minutes. If it is tied after that, then each team can share a point. Shoot outs are so anti hockey and anti team.

Go Falcons!!

No. The teams got to overtime playing 5 on 5. There's no reason to artificially change that to decide a game. If everybody wants a winner so bad, continue playing sudden death overtime until someone scores. It's not that difficult.

I've said it before (probably on here) but if you want teams to really try to avoid going to a shootout give three points for a win in regulation time, two points for a win in overtime, and one point for a win in the shootout. If you lose (regardless of when) you get nothing.

I would be satisfied with 5 on 5 in OT. I do not have strong feeling either way. However, I really dislike the shootout after OT. If they can only play five minutes due to some NCAA rule, that is fine, then end in a tie after OT. Otherwise, I would like them to keep playing until a winner is decided.
