"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Andrew Hammond should be starting every game. Period. Nothing against Eno, but the guy's just better than him. We're not doing ourselves any favors by trotting out a goalie who simply isn't as good.

Re: Not Eno's night.
I may not make many fans w/ this comment but Eno really hasn't impressed me at all this season. I am not sure if its nerves or just being overwhelmed with the poorer aspects of our game, but he just seems out of it or unfocused after he gets that first score on him. On the other hand Hammond has been a much stronger competitor in my opinion throughout the season only getting stronger as the season has moved along. I look forward to NMU and MSU; hopefully as a team we can play much better hockey and not have to rely solely on the performance of our goaltending to save us...

Re: Not Eno's night.
5 - 1 Final tonight.
The two goalie system I'm afraid is here to stay. Bergeron used it in miami and is using it here and helps recruiting.
Our two goals should be given the MVP of this team. Falcons lack of offensive is horrible, worst in DI, defensive can be spotty at best. With as many shots as they see its amazing that they keep us in as many games and gives us HOPE. That's what this program, player's and fans need is HOPE. Its amazing the effort given on nights when its tied or one goals games as opposed to nights when its a two or three goals. That glimmer of HOPE of a bouncing puck going into the net has helped the offense. HOPE is a dangerous thing for teams and once they get it, it is amazing the things they can accomplish. Great seasons and accomplishments have been achieved with hope and that's what we need.

Great post!!! I agree, our goalies have given us a chance to win nearly every game we have played this season. And HOPE is what I have lived on regarding this hockey team and program....for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time!!!unfalconbelievable wrote:5 - 1 Final tonight.

Re: Not Eno's night.
The only thing I can think of is maybe Hammond had an injury....minor or otherwise. If he was healthy and Bergeron still decided to play Eno, than it was dumb. There is no question who gives the team the best chance to win, which I thought was what Bergeron said the team was going to do the rest of the way. It doesn't matter though you aren't going to win scoring 1 goal a game, no matter who is in net.

I look at goalies much like pitchers in baseball. In order to win the game you need to give up less goals/runs then the other goalie/pitcher. One goal a game sometimes is all it takes, other nights it won't but accepting that as defeat is a problem. Every pitcher and goalie should have the mindset - they will not allow a goal/run because one could beat them.
Falcons have such little margin for error that two-goals allowed would normaly be a great effort and a win looks like a mountain to climb for us. It will great better.
