WCHA will NOT be in Denver. No local draw, and a flight for everybody. That's where I saw my first hockey game too--about the same time. I vowed I would never go to another hockey game!! Boy, was I wrong. I missed the Olympia by 2 years. My first pro game was at the Joe on Dec. 6th, 1981. 'Wings vs Philadelphia. The 'Wings were horrible back then, but somehow they managed to win that day 4-2. I did get to a game at Chicago Stadium before they tore that down. It was really cool inside and incredibly loud 
I'm still mad at myself for never getting to Maple Leaf Gardens to see a game.

I missed the Olympia...I did see the first ever game at the Joe vs St Louis...IIRC 12/27/79. We lost....

The first organized game I saw was also at Olympia - 1963.
